    How much Ammo is “Enough”?

All that money you saved by not buying ammo? It isn't going to be very useful in a zombie apocalypse. Nobody facing the undead ever said "Gee, I have too much ammo."

    How much Ammo is “Enough”?

This to me is another "no such thing" topic. One recent example. Most of my ammo I put together myself; it's fun, and I like the extra layer of involvement. However, I have just a few rifles that seem to shoot specific factory loads best, so that's what I use. One is my go-to, my Marlin MXLR...

    Would you shoot this bull?

:S Agree: I am not a trophy hunter per se. The state of Alaska, for my game management unit, says that any antlered bull moose is fair game, and a quick check of many of my bulls would tell you I take advantage of that - I like moose meat. That said, paying for it, I want something more. Not...

The 47-70 has not, and never will, be a 458 win mag

My 2 cents, which, with the price of gold today, isn't much I suppose... As someone who hunts with a .45-70 and has taken a couple buffalo with it, in addition to other species... Is the .45-70 enough for buffalo, with caveats? Abso-freaking-lutely. 110%. Is it on par with a .458 WM? NoPe...

No, I do not believe it is a "break even". More of a 2 wrongs don't make a right. Just because someone else does something wrong does not make it right for me to do the same. Again, I don't think we have a common basis for discourse on this.

"a CEB will take an texas heart shot and leave the chest." Indeed. On my last trip I put one in the chest of a large black wildebeest bull and exited by the arse. On my first trip I shot a buffalo in the same place and it almost exited the hindquarter.
