Sawyers works like a charm. Do we really use enough in a season for gallons? I can wash my pants 4 or 5 times per treatment with no degradation so one bottle of Sawyers does the trick for me.
Just a heads up and be aware of if traveling to DRC and Uganda.

Most of my 23 years of elk hunting were with a bow and a few times black powder all during rut. One of the greatest hunts if you can do during rut. Bugle a big bull to 20-30 yards high in the mountains with the aspen quakies brilliant is hard to beat. All of my hunting was DYI private ranch...

Congratulations, well done. I ended with a Dakota but sure wish it was the SD rifle. Glad it all worked out , I will be reaching out to Cole this coming week.
It’s interesting by the year 2000, I was involved in relocating a family unit of elephant from Laikipia Plateau to Tsavo which they note in this brochure was one the better areas for elephant. Hard to believe what 20 years of no hunting did to Tsavo. Kenya really knew/know how to screw their...
@Joker12 yep that should work after August hunt. Took it for a drive today with TSX and she shot great a true MOA. Just need to swap the scope to my Swarovski 1-6 even though the Zeiss Victory on it is nice. I know the lead sled is a no no to many but no weight and an extra decelerator pad has...
@PARA45 thanks, the rifle is 15 years old. I will try my TSX ammo and check accuracy. When I get home I believe I what I need to make a dummy and insert it slowly and check the length.
@UpNorthMI understood and thanks. I have my old standby 375HH and a 404J. My son and I hunt in August. This rifle was an upgrade. I’ll try the TSX see how they group and go from there.
What bothers me is the AFrames have slight markings where they seem to stop. The TSX load and eject smoothly not engaging any obstruction. What causes the marks understanding the ogive is bulkier? Is it the lands of the rifleing?
@375er thank you, I thought of this. These are factory ammo which I have a bunch of and I don’t reload but Hendershot has made a bunch of ammo for my 404j so I could go that route
@USMA84DAB and @uplander01 thanks for the inputs. I don’t believe I am properly qualified for throat reaming myself and would leave that to either Dakota or a good smith. Certainly understand the accuracy of the 375 and 1/4 MOA not an issue. It’s just very disappointing that I received a...
I received a new to me Dakota Safari in 375HH. I use factory ammo so have both Swift AFrame 300 grain made by Swift and Barnes TSX in 300 grains. The Barnes ammo cycles nicely the Swift ( two different periods of time one new one 7 years old) will not allow me to close the bolt. By eye they look...
I learned an interesting bit of outdoor knowledge during my spring gobbler hunting this year in Florida. At Easter our pines sometimes produce a cross. This was last week. Happy Easter
Roaming the hills and dales with my trusty Crossman pellet gun was my daily activity after school or whenever. I was lucky to have 400 acres to roam and many pigeons, starlings, rats and woodchucks volunteered to sharpen my skills. Having no hunters in the family my wonderful father recognized...
@Spartan5 He escaped on his own. These are cattle ponds maybe 50yards in diameter with high dirt mounds surrounding. He was 200 yards away when we heard his screams. By the time we arrived he had some how twisted loose which was 30 or 40 seconds.
@Rimbaud he is a Pudlepointer. Best dog I have ever had over many years. Wonderful hunter and the best friend of everyone he sees. My sons also have them so we have three in our family.
My best friend and my avatar picture had a run in with a Florida gator a couple of weeks ago on my hunting lease. He got thirsty and ran to a cattle pond for a drink. Unfortunately a 7.5 foot gator was very hungry and grabbed him by his front shoulders trying to pull him in. He screamed for a...
