In my experience it is really hard to beat a 180 grain all around PG bullet for the 30-06. I would argue it is big enough for the largest Eland. For myself so I am not a hypocrite, I have a ton of 220 grain Remington Corlok that I personally like and that shoot great out of my rifle.

Unless you have a true collectors gun or one that is no longer made or a gun like a Heym that people will pay more for to save a three year build you will find you have to offer a discount to sell your gun. Just the way it goes

On the 15 hour trip to Africa it is hard to beat a kindle. I am a speed reader due to the fault of a former CEO so I go through three books per week. Before I go to Africa I load up 7 new books on my Kindle and am good to go versus 7 paper backs that would never work

Just my experience, you would be much better off finding the lightest powder load in terms of loads that produce your desired FPS. That way a gun designed to weigh perfect between your hands is not distorted in any way
