    8x64 Brenneke....Who has one ?

If you are considering an 8 MM Mazon, why not, for very similar if not better powder volume consider a 8 mm x 375 Ruger? You could rebarrel any 300 WINmag or 375 Ruger , Pacific Tools and Gauge will make you a reamer.

    8x64 Brenneke....Who has one ?

different cartridges entirely. 8-06= 8x63S in metric lingo , less volume as a 8x 64S, \ a bit of a shorter neck for all practical purposes and a bit reamer dependent. fireforming the 8x64 S from 30-06 brass is a 2 step affair as the shoulder gets blown forward a bit. shoulder is at 55.9 mm or...

Wanted for .416 Rigby ammo and reloading stuff

norma brass is great, just be aware that reloading information is not exchangeable with hornady brass which is nearly 40 gr lighter per case and has larger internal volume. Hornady brass data will create higher pressure in Norma brass.

The 22 Hornet: Uses: Your Choices in ammo, on animals, results

agree with above re: H110/W296, the differences in load manuals by 0.2 gr for Hornet/k-hornet is what you get with different charges of any powder. AA1680 is the best, especially for >45gr. The 52 gr AMAX seems to hold together quite well at Hornet speeds ( about 2650 fps out of my Cooper...

all modern hornets are/use 224 diameter. You'd have to get a 1950s gun or older to get a 223 bore.I use 35 gr VMAX factory ammo in a K-hornet ( fireforms well, excellent accuracy) and 52 gr bergers and TSX 45 gr in reloads. W296 is H110. I like Little gun and AA1680 best. AS I have a 222 as well...

Wild hog meat… do you eat it or is it too risky?

you also have compulsory trichinella testing for wild meat in Europe. trichinella rates for black bear in Canada varies regionally from 15% in the prairies to > 70% on the west coast. freezing at -20C/48h or cooking to core temp >70C will also kill it.

Down loading the 458WM to 45-70??

these were my 2 lines of thought as well. Black bears are not terribly hard to kill, a 458 cal bullet at anything above 1400 fps and under 50y is not unreasonable. If the 458 gun is heavy and she can handle the weight, that is good. A light 308 may kick a lot harder. But as said by others...
