Let’s not get into a pissing match over terminology. Speer called them a molecular bonded or some such decades ago and still do. I’ve never seen one separate and my experience is that they tend to pass on through.
However-the op chose to go in a different direction so it doesn’t seem...
I should add-I’ve been to Africa several times and mostly used tbbc handloads which I still have a supply of-last trip I used a more modern design because that rifle loves that bullet.
I haven’t used my old .30-06 or .270 much recently simply due to lack of opportunity and a love affair I...
I’ve shot some deer and elk with them-I absolutely love them, old construction or new, they expand and they pass through. Reliable.
I don’t use them as much anymore because I don’t use the rifles I loaded them for very
Much any more, but I would not hesitate to take them to Africa.
I quit watching Keith Warren a long time ago when he was resorting to pellet rifles and the 50 bmg for his content.
Most animals shot through the heart will run a “short” distance before dropping and zebras do tend to be on the tough side of plains game.
I would agree the eld-x seems a bit frangible for bigger game. My suggestion would be one of the many variations of bonded bullet available. Your chosen caliber will be just fine-I have always used my own rifles, it is part of the enjoyment of the hunt for me. Good luck with your planning and...
Thank You-I feel very blessed this year. . . Had a good antelope hunt as well. Just hope I didn’t use up all my luck and points in the same year :ROFLMAO:
This is my first muzzleloader animal ever. My brother got his first ever whitetail.
The smoke obscured my shot and I didn’t hear the bullet impact. Me nephew watching from far away and above said the stalk and the shot were exciting and stressful to watch.
The tenderloins were excellent with...
Oh I see-So he settled for the one he could still catch. . . Possibly due to her replaced hip! Aim higher me boys, if you have money you are still in the hunt!!!
I was surprised at the part about eating them. The badgers we have in the USA are stinky and I can’t imagine eating one!
Good for you using as much as possible from your game
Pedestal mounts typically use a specific form that will have some shape or curve to the back of the form. So you get a lifelike look instead of a hard flat back to the mount. There are wall pedestal and pure pedestal forms, the wall type have a flat side so they can lay flat against the wall...
It has always interested Me how the last 30-45 minutes of daylight, animals senses seem to dull or become less effective. Maybe the animals are just distracted but I have noticed a difference in that time frame
Serbia placed a ban last summer on exporting military arms and ammunition in general. I suspect it has much to do with military functions but can’t remember exactly.
They are still producing just not exporting
I’m sad to say this but the 7mm-stw. There are so many that do what it did, and do it better. . .
And I still own one! Sadly I think it’s on its way to obscurity.
Funny how many different opinions there are on this thread and they all seem to be correct. I disagree with most of them but that’s just one more correct opinion isn’t it. . .
Very cool trophies and that is a beautiful rifle. Perhaps could expound a bit about your rifle and bullet selection. . .
I think I would like to hunt banteng as much as buffalo!
Have used a solid black version for decades. Keep the barrel down and out of sight and don’t move when the ducks are working-
Camo duck guns can and often do look good, it’s a place where camo really becomes part of the sport. (Along the lines of darkening your face So they don’t see the glare)...
Cedar Run Decoy Co. is making a pink eared duck decoy and selling it as a collector package. The proceeds/profits to be sent to Australia to help with waterfowl conservation. I’ve always wanted to come collect some of the amazing species you have there, it’s on my list if I ever win a lottery
A close version of that legend was shared with me while on a recent hunt-it’s a great story! I wouldn’t consider them to be one of the more alert but “shy” or secretive surely apply. Beautiful and a pleasure to hunt-
That is the only thing a tripod does better is holding your gun for you when you need a place to hang it.
I carry mine constantly now. They make good walking sticks, bino rests when glassing and are wonderfully lightweight.
Reading the comments I think some people haven’t learned to use them...
I’ll bet More than half the resident hunters in Wyoming kill their antelope with a hand me down grandpas gun and a lead tipped bullet-
If you want a new rifle, you don’t need a reason but that’s a good one, but to redlegs point, you probably already have a good one in your safe.
They are managing numbers of people in addition to managing numbers of animals taken. We can’t all hunt our favorite unit every year. . .
Here is another thing Wyoming does really well.
Request your copy of these publications and it will give you information on guides and outfitters, hunter...
Welcome to the tangled web of highly opinionated information!
