SWIFT A-Frame 300 gn bullets in a 9.3x62 what performance can I expect?

My absolute most accurate load, sub-MOA, is Oryx at about 2250 fps. I wouldn't use those on buffalo, but I'd sure use them on anything else.

SWIFT A-Frame 300 gn bullets in a 9.3x62 what performance can I expect?

Same, except with 2000MR and 286 A Frame at 2475. I got identical performance from Big Game that I do from 2000MR

SWIFT A-Frame 300 gn bullets in a 9.3x62 what performance can I expect?

OAL is unique to rifle and bullet. Literally every 286/285 gr bullet I've put into my 9.3, which includes all except Woodleigh and Barnes, ogive was on lands at about 84.5 or 84.6 mm. As @baxterb pointed out, the 300 gr is a swaged-down 375 bullet, so different nose profile. But - as with...

Depends on the restaurant. At high end establishments where the bill is often $500 or more (a lot more), a FT waiter can earn 100K USD+ At low-end establishments frequented by a certain demographic that doesn't tip, maybe $15 - 20k

You should watch "Man of God" about Saint Nectarios (free on Amazon Prime in the US). I don't know how he maintained such a state of humility. I'd be eaten up with at least 2 of the 8 Deadly Passions, probably 3.

Why you dont want to hunt elephant..?

“I have always tempered my killing with respect for the game pursued. I see the animal not only as a target, but as a living creature with more freedom than I will ever have. I take that life if I can, with regret as well as joy, and the sure knowledge that nature’s ways of fang and claw or...

I'd hunt ele under 2 conditions tuskless cow an old bull on his last set of molars, don't even care about the ivory, wouldn't care if one side was completely broken off at the root and the other side was half broken. One broken tusk sitting up here next to my office would still be a great...

    Cost to Hunt Elephant

Has the ZA government finally changed its stance on this, or are you talking SW Moz? Last I checked with my Limpopo PH a few months back, Timbavati and surrounding areas was still no ele hunting, not even for tuskless (which is pretty stupid if you ask me, especially given the ele population...

Which one would you use on Cape Buffalo -

I've heard Mark Haldane his own self say not to use TSX for risk of over-penetration. I'm loading up North Fork 430 gr SS for my 404J when I go back next year. I had good fortune with A Frame last time, but they're unobtanium in anything but .366 for a couple years.

    Arachnophobia

That I am aware of, all spiders are venomous. How-some-ever, for most of them, the venom is not toxic to humans. And in some cases, the venom is only toxic to humans and their prey (funnel web spiders fall in this category, I believe, but they're only in Oz). I'm not a huge fan of spiders, I...

What did you get yourself for Christmas?

Yep. 11 weeks old on Friday, I've already got him sitting and laying pretty consistently. "Come" is a work in progress, as are "sit stay" and "down stay". Still easily distracted, so the click with sit and down has to be within 7 or 8 seconds. He's also doing a pretty decent job of...

We can stipulate there was a kingdom of some sort in Rhodesia. But those sorts were the exceptions, as I've now twice mentioned. Africa is rich in natural resources. That is without question. What is also without question is that even the "advanced" civilization in Rhodesia at that time...

I think the idea of governance is an alien concept to people who do not think in the abstract, who often really just don't think much further than tomorrow, or at most, until the next harvest. Imagine an army run by nothing but PFCs, with no thought on logistics or strategy. I think that's...

While true, what this overlooks is that corruption is the norm in sub-Sahara Africa. I'm actually not aware of any exceptions to this. Allegiances there are narrow, small: family and the local tribe, in that order. Europe is certainly tribal, but it was never THAT tribal. Today's western...

Can't remember, I know your dad and I had a few phone calls about it - which bullets did you guys settle on? Your opinion on potential advantages of the .375 Weatherby?

The salient point is what can you do with the Weatherby that you can't with an H&H? Extend lethal range by an extra 75 yards? That might be useful in Coutadas 10 and 11. But where else? A 300 gr bullet at 2700 doesn't kill buffalo any deader or more reliably than it does it 2500. I just...

Your opinion on potential advantages of the .375 Weatherby?

What can you do with a 300 gr bullet at 2700 fps that you can't do at 2450 or 2550 fps? Better is better, and faster is faster. But it doesn't follow with necessity that faster is better. Ol' Roy had some pretty good ideas in small bore, but big mediums and large bore...the game is very...

If the 9.3x62 became the new legal minimum?

I've got 150+ 286 gr A Frames on my loading bench waiting to be used. That'd be a "nah" on the Barnes. And if I can't get any more Swift, I'd go with North Fork SS or Woodleigh 320s.

Maybe this is the rifle I need to use as I get older !

For 225 gr pills, you've got quite a few choices with BC north of .45, and that's what it'll take to reach 250 with enough speed for expansion and with enough energy to put through an elk. For the lighter ones, what you gain in speed you give up in BC and still end up with about the same max...
