I’ve taken 8 eland, 6 of which were males, then I took 2 females earlier this month on a management hunt. I did take a LDE hunt but was unsuccessful. Eland are pretty high up on my wish list on all of my hunts. The first 5 I took were with my .375H&H, the last 3 with my .308.

Given you are using a 458, I will guess you are doing a dangerous game hunt, if so, I'm a big fan of the Leupold Patrol, 1x6-24 with firedot. I think you'll still find them for 799.00.

I have used Hornady bonded DGX on 4 buffalo, none of them went more than 40 yards. Perhaps Hornady would have been well served had they changed the name of the DGX when they bonded it. Even something like DGX2 might have helped their marketing.
