@MShort, I checked the ammo that I got with my rifle; all Double Tap loaded ammo 300 grain, 2700fps 350 grain, 2550fps 400grain, 2375fps I've only shot the 350 grain ammo. My rifle with Trijicon red dot weighs just 8lbs 1oz, it's a bit of a thumper.

That’s a good looking rig, I really like the stock. I recently purchased a 416 Taylor, it came with loaded ammo, Barnes 350 grain TSX, I looked at the box earlier today, and I’d swear the box said 2550 fps. I’ll try to get back out to my cabin tomorrow and check that.

I also put a bug net in my pocket in case the mopane flies get too bad. This is more for sitting around in the bush during the lunch break or if you get an animal and have to stand around a little while.

I’ve hunted the Limpopo province numerous times, and I agree with @Elkeater, typical shots will be 50-100 yards. Lots of great scopes out there, I’m a huge Leupold fan, and this year I picked up a Swarovski Z5i in 2x10 to take to the Limpopo in two weeks.

I hunted bush pigs in Africa using my guides Pard night vision scope adapter on my .308. It worked really slick. I’m sorry I do not know more about what model we were using. I can say it clipped on my gun really easy and at 50 yards I could see really clearly.

I have one on my .375H&H, its just fits my gun so well, I'm not a huge fan of big bulky scopes. And the firedot is super helpful.
