22 Hornet would definitely be ideal, for me, I took my little guys as opportunity presented itself, so that’s why mine were taken with my 375H&H.

Certainly cannot blame ammo makers for dropping low selling calibers. I have no idea how small gun shops begin to stock ammo when there are a gazillion calibers out there.

I have taken 7 of the Tiny Ten, all with .375H&H. One was taken with a solid, the others were taken with Barnes TSX. I was never interested in full body mounts so I just aimed center mass and shot. The TSX bullets acted a good bit like a solid on the ones I shot.

For RSA, I personally would not bother with taking a Thermocell, I did however take one on a hunt in Zimbabwe once, camp was along the Zambezi, it was a big help when sitting around the fire at the end of the day.

@Brian, it's your hunt, if you would feel safer wearing snake gaiters, which would allow you to relax a bit more when walking about the bush, then wear them, it's your hunt and your health.

It is a significant difference! Have you held a new Mauser 98 rifle, I have a Dos Original model in .375H&H, I've never run a smoother action in my life!

I bought a case of this ammo as well from Raven Rocks, great ammo, shoots great out of my rifle, using it next month on Wildebeest and Zebra. GLWS

In my many trips I've seen mambas on 3 occasions, saw a puff adder once, saw a couple of cobras, but look at it this way, when is the last time you read on this forum where a hunter died of a snake bite? Then realize that wherever you are hunting, all of those people have spent their life out...

Given a handful of people have written to ask, YES, the barrel on this rifle is the original factory barrel.

I had 3/4” plywood installed, kind of a big difference between 1/2” and 3/4” plywood.

Trying to take extra ammo would cause me anxiety that takes away from overall experience. 100 rounds of ammo is a lot of ammo!

The first handful of eland I took was with my .375H&H, the last one I took, pictured above, was with my .308 using 180 grain Swift Aframes, I had a perfect broadside shot, he ran between 40-50 yards and piled up! I’ll be using this same combo later this as well.
