I took my recurve and compound. My furthest shot was on the Kudu at exactly 30 yards. Some blinds are more trad friendly than others. Hunted a different blind almost daily so I stuck to the wheels. There should be a report I did here on the bow hunting page.
About 22 yards I believe. 125 grain non vented VPA in front of a heavy Easton FMJ. 65lb compound. The arrow flew further than he ran. You can see the hair flying. That broadhead was scary sharp.
Lucky to get this shot.
Limcroma Safaris PH Hardus shot this vid. Great guy and excellent PH!
This old Red Hartebeast was prime for stalking. A "razorsharp.... "see what I did there?" LOL cut on impact broad head (125gr VPA nonvented) in front of a heavy FMJ barely slowed down. He ran a ways then just laid down and went to sleep.
This is my Impala. About a 24 yard shot. This one was I was lucky on. I failed to notice that he was quartering away.(see video) I aimed straight up the leg right in the triangle formed by the leg and shoulder bones. What I thought looked like a perfect shot was in reality, too far forward and...
My 1st South African animal, this Kudu was 30 yards exactly and slightly quartering away. A heavy arrow and razor sharp broadhead that is cut on impact is very effective as you can see.
This was a 23 yard shot with a 150 grain VPA 3 blade broadhead on a 29" Easton FMJ arrow with 50 grains of brass weight behind the insert out of a 65 lb compound. The arrow was about 10 yards beyond where the bull was standing. Razor sharp broadhead and a well tuned semi heavy arrow are a good...
Yes. I understand your point. It is valid. It comes with blaze orange also. Not fool proof but better than nothing. At Limcroma safaris, the rifle hunters and bow hunters were hunting different concessions. On my hunt I'm pretty certain that my PH and I were the only two on the concession we...
This decoy velcro mounts to the front of your bow. Weighs only ounces. Looks very similar to a Kudu cow to me. Anyone ever heard of this being tried?
I have seen it work on North American game but Africa might be whole different story. It could be worth a try. Thoughts?
It shows what a razor sharp broad head will do. The arrow is well out the opposite side and he still hadn't flinched. He only went about 30 yards and fell over. That was a 125 grain VP three blade unvented.
You can't go wrong with Limcroma Safaris! Did my 1st South Africa plains game hunt with them in August and I was very pleased with every aspect of their operation.
