I figured it would be best to lay out everything were looking for in our next great African Adventure, and seewhat you and your outfit could offer. After our 1st Africa trip in 2017 we were able to harvest some amazing animals, and we were able to see what we liked and didn't like. So now its...
We have some great deer in KY don't we!
I also have a large area fenced in my back yard where I get to live with them and pet them everyday.
I LOVE KENTUCKY.
A few details slipped my mind as I wrote these individual posts/reports.
One of which was the camp and camp staff. As I mentioned when I arrived at camp my jaw hit the ground. Oh my gosh that place was unbelievable, extremely clean, and just simply beautiful. The camp staff was just great! We...
Now for the ending summary... The Hunting with Limcroma has got to be some of the best hunting hands down! the trophy quality was 2nd to NONE!
The good thing about not taking some of the target animals is that it gives me a great excuse to hunt South Africa again!
I do wish we would have spent...
The morning of our departure day my wife and I decided to get up at sunrise and do a short photo-shoot. We were able to capture some awesome pictures of the sunrise along with us and our fake smile! LOL
I also caught a decent Nyala in the morning darkness.
After photos were taken we settled up...
On the last day of hunting we finally get to target my top 3 species.... (Egyptian goose, Baboon, and Warthog).
Our PH took us to the river where we would walk about a 1 mile stretch down and back. He said this was a great spot for all 3 critters.
As soon as we get to the waters edge 2 geese...
This being my wife's 1st real bow-hunting trip, she was understandably shook about her bad shot on the Gemsbok. We sat down together one night and discussed some different hunting options. By this point in the trip we had spent over 90 hours in a hide. We still had 2 hunting days left and a lot...
After a few long sets in the blinds my wife finally got her chance at a gemsbok. 20 yards slightly quartering away... a Beautiful long horned wide male. During this hunt we were COVERED up with maybe 60-70 animals around us... Kudu, sable, wildebeest, warthogs, impala, and gemsbok.
My wife...
With a day of rest under our belt, and all of our excursions/trips unavailable there was nothing left to do but hunt... I wasn't to mad about that! LOL
On this day my wife and I set out after gemboks, blesbok, or impala. My wife and I made an agreement that she would shoot a gemsbok or impala...
THE REPORT CONTIUNES!!!
We had a few day trips planned for our 11 days, and on Day 5 it was time to take a day off from hunting! Those 6:30am breakfasts, and 8:15pm suppers were getting to us, along with 10 hours in a hide. We had previously made plans for 4 trips/activites...
#1 was a spa day...
I was to eager to get to the next day where I shot a Stallion. I had them on my mind when typing! Bad part is I re-read each post before posting, and it seemed fine!:ROFLMAO:
Thanks for the response!
I'm a die hard waterfowl hunter! An Egyptian goose is just a dream bird that I would consider one of the holy grail birds!
I took all the photos with my Canon 7d Mark ii camera. I added the watermark in the bottom right concern during the edits.
Much more review...
Through out the course of our 11 days we night hunted 4 nights. usually 2-3 hours each night driving with lights.
My father ended up taking a springhare (barehanded catch and kill) and a Genet from a tree with his bow! Those nights were cold but very fun.
MORE REPORT TOMORROW! STAY TUNED!
The Next day our plan was to set back out after zebra to the same property. This was day 4 in camp, and it was a rough day for my wife. Her grandfather was just diagnosed with Cancer for the 3rd time the day before we arrived in camp. The only communication we had was via camp Wi-Fi that was...
After returning to camp and sharing stories of the day, and Jessica's awesome Wildebeest we learned of my father Success. He had shot a beautiful Sable Bull! A 43" Bull at that!!! I was extremely happy for him, but I will say I had NO IDEA a sable was on his radar... but after seeing them I...
After the Kudu was sent to the salt, we moved to a new hide so my wife could get her 1st chance at African blood. We seen a few Blue Wildebeest, and a few Gemsbok, but nothing that presented a shot. We headed back to camp with my big smile from ear to ear as I began to tell everyone the story of...
As we watched these amazing animals all around us I quickly realized that each species was much larger then I had expected... I knew a Kudu was big, but man those legs are long! Id say each animal was about 10% bigger in person then I had imagined.
I also quickly learned how great the quality...
6:00am on our 1st Full day in camp! We were eager to get up, eat breakfast and run! Our breakfast was one we would be very accustom with in the coming days. Scrambled eggs, ham sliced as bacon, cheese filled sausage links, toast, and muffins.
were chilly, but we had brought layers to wear. We...
Now for the good stuff! We touched down at JBN at 8:20am on Sunday July 16 2017. Customs was a breeze, and gathering our bows wasn't to bad either. We were met by a gentleman who ran a shuttle service for several outfits. (I want to say the name was "Safari travel" maybe?
We have a 4 hour drive...
Time to buy airline tickets! Everyone suggested that we fly Delta from Atlanta GA. But we wanted to arrive early and make it into camp on day 1 rather then stay at a guesthouse. The flight that fit our needs best was South Africa Airways from JFK. (plus the tickets were WAY cheaper, it was a WIN...
