Where are you seeing it on Midways site? Other than ammo I could never find the 450 brass listed.

Learn from my mistakes - Buffalo

I don’t think so? Dave Langerman can chime in if he wants. Last hunt I did was with him. It doesn’t take too much time to get off 6 shots.

Learn from my mistakes - Buffalo

If they are moving I’m still shooting. All goes down in less than a minute. I don’t wait for them to fall over.

Learn from my mistakes - Buffalo

Good job getting it done! I keep shooting if they are moving and sometimes I get some fun poked at me for it but I don't care. Last Buff hunt I did was this past June, 19 shots for 3 bulls. But I love shooting doubles and sending rounds down range. My routine for practice is in rounds of 6...

North Fork Bullets For Serious Hunting

Hardly nothing in what most people want in lead bonded bullets. 458-500's, 375-300's, 410-400's, etc. Have not seen them in stock for several years now. Possibly since Northfork sold and moved out of the US.

    Swarovski NL Pure 10x42

Look for an OTB suppressor. That would really make that rifle a dream to carry in the bush.

Got it! Thanks for clarifying. Love seeing all these guns you’ve been picking up.

    Jeffery 475 no. 2

Do you worry about gun fit much or just more interested in condition? I’ve personally found very few vintage guns in my almost 20 years of buying double’s the fit me properly that I have bought. Only 11-12 if my memory is correct.

Delta Airlines - What Am I Missing

And delta buisness class is no comparison to Emirates. You said Zim or Moz. You can go direct Dubai to Harare on Emerites which is a huge plus to not have to bother with Joberg at all.

The ultimate Elk Cartridge? - Does a Man-Bun make you more sensitive to recoil?

Spotting their shot through the scope is what most of them will say. And more accurate.

The ultimate Elk Cartridge? - Does a Man-Bun make you more sensitive to recoil?

Seams to be going that way. There is a really large forum on western hunting and the amount of people that have killed deer, elk, moose, and bear over there is stagering with a 223 or the various 6mm cartridges is staggering. There is one thread with thousands of post mortom pics. I don't get...

    Jo-burg Hotels

Sounds good, was just wondering as I did them once and much prefer Africa Sky and been with them at 10+ times. One trip I stayed there 3 different times as I would coming and going on separate safaris. Africa Sky is 7-10 minutes from the airport and Gilbert works miracles at the airport when...

    Jo-burg Hotels

I stayed at city lodge for the first time this year. It is inexpensive and close. But honestly Gilbert from Africa Sky could get me to thier lodge just as fast if not faster. Yes more expensive but much nicer and food far better than city lodge. If that matters to you.

Setting overall length on a Double rifle

Most guys will load so you get a good crimp in the cannelure. We are not chasing the accuracy like in a blot gun. Good crimp is important in the heavy kickers so your bullet in the second barrel won’t start to come unseated after the first shot.

    Barnes LRX performance

We’ve been shooting LRX’s for quite a few years along with TSX, TTSX, on close to 200 animals. They work great. Most recent is the 160’s in 7PRC. Use to use the 168’s but since the more slippery 160’s came out we have been using them with great results as well.

    Latest on CBP form 4457

My local CBP office stopped allowing suppressors on the 4457 several years ago. They directed me to the ATF Form 5320.20. You can email it to them and you will recieve it back in a week or two. I've done it 3-4 times now. Pretty easy and quick.

    fillers for nitro express

So your fine with Michael and Sams data in regards to Dacron. Which you state was some compelling information that helped you make the decision to switch to foam. But when I bring up that I recall they also got some concerning data on 3031 that's "magical stories". Makes sense.

    Blaser 375 w/suppressor

Why? I've had numerous blaser barrels threaded. Blaser USA does it out of Texas but quite expensive. Had Unknown Munitions thread two for my kids last year.

    Fresh currency

This use to be a thing 10 ish years ago. Last few trips I just take good newish notes. Go buy something while you’re there and your change will be the most disgusting US bills you have ever seen. I was owed $5 change last month and what came out of the till was not going in my pocket!

Where is the best steak (and why)

What do you use to age? My wife and I have been looking at different age’rs for the last couple of years and can’t commit. This is just for our home. We buy our beef in bulk as well would like to try aging deer, elk and ducks too.

Where is the best steak (and why)

Bob's in Dallas is hit and miss. I think there are at least two. One being the original. The one in Nashville right accross the convention center has been hit and miss as well.

    Best insect repellent for Africa

Avon insect/sun cream works great. Sawyers on your clothes and also like the Avon aerosol as well for a quick top off during the day. Been my go to the last 8-10 trips or so. Have yet to have a tick on me while others in the hunting party have.

    Case Trimmer for NE cartridges

I only charge 223 and 50BMG on my giraud. Not sure what else they make. Quick trimmer but kindof pain if changing between calibers often. Classic Forster is great for the midsized Nitro's. Hederson for most things for me.

    Chasing the Black Death

Congrats! Ignore the Canadian comment above. For loading quickly. Once my load development is done almost every practice shot I do is a sting of 6 shots. I take one shot off the sticks, immediately come off the sticks and shoot the second shot barrel offhand. Then move/run 5-10 yards while...

Anyone know about a bullet crimp grove tool ?

They have a hand one somewhere in the $100 range. Which I have one and it’s decent. But I think that CH4D one looks like it would work better. Especially if you turn it on its side and clamp it in a vice so the bullet is standing vertical.

Vic Falls as a Tourist Save Valley as a Hunter! Need logistics help!

If you already staying at Africa Sky just leave the guns with them and use their VIP service for transit and the gun permit. They do a great job. So do Riflepermits as noted above. I just used them as I was not staying at Africa Sky this trip.

.404J - who would make your custom all-weather rifle?

Interested who does the build. I’ve wanted a 404 for 15 plus years. Doubt I would ever take it Africa unless I build a takedown. But I’ve picked up enough components over the years to be able to feed one.
