A driven bird shoot is a good day, but for me, only enjoyable with good company. I have done the paid peg scenario and meet the other guns on the day and whilst the shooting was enjoyable the overall day is no where near the same.

I would say this is a fair representation of costs in the UK

Can be, but usually only with people targeting foreign hunters at inflated pricing. You can hunt good quality roe bucks affordably in the UK.

I think it depends on in what environment you want to hunt either species. Fallow bucks in the rut is an amazing experience. Mouflon in the mountains would be a good hunt, but most Mouflon hunts are in the low lands / farm land and not a great hunt experience imo.

Why not head to Scotland? It will give you the challenging hunt, good scenery and you said you aren’t bothered about a trophy head.
