    European Wild Boar Identification

A lot of the wild boar fever hunts are behind fences with stocked wild boar, or premium areas which will cost many many thousands. Many people go on ‘typical’ driven hunts for 3 days and may not get a shot. Average maybe an animal per person per day but you will have many blank days and then...

    Mouflon or Fallow?

I think it depends on in what environment you want to hunt either species. Fallow bucks in the rut is an amazing experience. Mouflon in the mountains would be a good hunt, but most Mouflon hunts are in the low lands / farm land and not a great hunt experience imo.

    Scottish Stag Stalking Recommendations

later this year in September I am off for 3 days with ‘Winston Churchill Venison’ and then drive up to the Isle of Skye for 2 days with Davie Urquhart of ‘Skye Game. Both are highly recommended. You may also want to look at Scott McKenzie on Skye - had no availability when I enquired. George...

    Botswana - plains game?

Eland, Gemsbok and Warthog hunt, plus a photo safari - screams Namibia to me. I did a photographic safari in Namibia 2 years ago and had an excellent time. Happy to chat about it.

    Botswana - plains game?

Rather than trying to pick a country, I would focus on what experience and animals you want to hunt. Then you can narrow down countries or regions which offer you the animals you want in their native environment, plus determine costs.

Question about Shipping costs for Buff skull - RSA to UK

I must admit, I have put non CITIES animals in my hold luggage which have been boiled and cleaned and flown them back from a few countries. Especially if mounted on a shield or something, who is to say you didnt buy them at a market, etc.

Yea, I probably should have kept the head on that one. I don’t know why, but water deer don’t appeal to me as a trophy to keep and display. The venison is fantastic though.

    Would you be happy?

I haven’t hunted buffalo (yet), but my instruction to the PH would be if they feel the need to shoot, then shoot. You track and hunt them as a team, sometimes they need bringing down as a team too. Buffalo hunting to me isn’t a place for egos or individuals.
  35. UKHunter

    England Hunting Pictures

Indeed. I likely shoot double the amount of deer in a single year the average American shoots in a lifetime.

    Is this the same bear?

Looks like the same bear. Different lighting - indoor white lights versus outdoor playing a few tricks on the eyes, but the same bear I think. Just badly mounted.

    London area Taxidermist

Ive not personally used him (I prefer skull mounts) but I have seen a lot of positive reviews on a UK based deer stalking forum (not allowed to name based on forum rules here) and seen some of his work first hand which looked good. I would advise the OP to use the search function on that forum...

    Torn ears

If it were me, I would keep the tear because that represents the animal you shot and your memories. If you wanted it repaired, I’d think it was a very easy job for a taxidermist. BTW - did I miss your hunt report?
