I really like the .35 cals. I haven’t shot the 35 Whelen much, but I have 200gr TTSX loaded for that going around 2800fps on a 26” bbl. With the 358 NM, I was running 258gr hammer hunters around 2700 on a 24” bbl.

I ditched it a couple years back I think. I use JBM Ballistics now.

Take a look at the Lyman Cast Bullet Hanbook. It will give you an idea of what’s possible with other cartridges.

You might consider just buying some factory ammo and reloading it after you shoot.

Also an article in i think ~2009 Hodgdon Manual, “MELs, Moderate Effective Loads”, that has H4198 under this Barnes 235 TSX in a 375 Ruger, not quite the same, but something to consider, and more data on 4895 powders in this published data.

Hodgdon has load data showing standard load of both IMR4895 and H4895 for a 200gr. What I have read is that you can take the max load time 0.6 and that is the lowest charge to start with. Check my math, but that looks like about 45-46gr, which should be pretty light. Another one I’ve used is...

I did try the 130 TTSX out of the 308, but just didn't really like it. On the numbers, I like the 168 TTSX better than the 130 because its softer and has better BC. The 130 needs to leave the barrel at ~2650 fps to keep > 1,000 fps to 325 yard, which is where the 168 keeps it to at ~2200. The...

Well, got out to the range today. They did fine in the 8.5 twist barrel, not too impressive with 9.5 twist.

That looks very nice. I just got some 150gr for the 7mm's and will be doing some initial loads to find pressure with them this week. They are a pretty long bullet.

I am pretty sure the 168 was made for the 308 originally, I believe as a prototype for the military. Someone posted above with a quote from Barnes about the 165 being for the 300 win mag. It’s a harder bullet and the profile is designed to get it short enough to fit in the magazine of factory...

Haven’t see it mentioned, but the 150TTSX is a minimum impact velocity of 2,000 fps, as compared to the 165TTSX at 1,800 fps and the 168gr at 1,500 fps. I run the 168 in my 308 and 30-06. I have some low recoil loads with the 168 TTSX for the 308 that are leaving the barrel at about 2,000 fps...

I have been using them for my large rifle loads, no problems with them at all.

I think Swift and some other manufacturers rotate their production, so the heavy A-Frames should be due for another run soon. They have been doing the lighter A-Frames and Sciroccos for the last couple of years.

Also just ran this through QuickLoad and I would definitely start at the low end working up on this.
