    Model 70 Alaskan stock question.....

Of the several little annoyances with my Portugal assembled Model 70 Alaskan, one that begs for understanding is the angled stock relief at the action's loading/ejection port. My Alaskan is in 30-06, and the angled relief extends well to the rear of the rear receiver ring's front. It is...

    Current model 70 receiver bridges

Does anyone know if the current Model 70 "long action", and the "magnum long action" have the same receiver bridges? I'm wondering why they'd put .860 spacing on the non magnum, and .330 spacing on the magnum screw holes.

375 H&H primed brass at Grafs

They've got 375H&H Norma made brass with Barnes headstamp, primed, for about $45 - no hazmat on primed brass by the way. Considering right now large rifle magnum primers are pretty hard to get and expensive, it seemed like a decent deal.

    Scope for Win70 in 375

I'd like to take a moment to bounce my thoughts off the collective brain trust here.... Got a Model 70, cal .375H&H. Was thinkin' about an optic, and my thoughts seem to be settling on a Leupold VX Freedom 1.5x4x20 I can't currently imagine taking a shot more than 200-250 yards. My thought...

    Some Model 70 issues

Thought I'd give a little (ex)gunsmith's report on my new Model 70 Safari Express, and its little brother a Model 70 Alaskan. Those are chambered in 375H&H and 30-06 respectively. Gotta say both are great, but there were a few "issues" that needed correction. Both rifles had front action...

Fixin' to load up some 375H&H

Got some new Norma brass, and a box each of 270 boat tail Speer and Barnes 300 banded solids. Hopefully the IMR4350 will do ok, because that's what I've got, and got enough of to boot. Not really looking to make up real hot loads, just 2550ish to 2600, so hopefully in a week I can shoot the new...

    New from the southernmost swamplands

Greetings to all! I'll be totally honest, and say I'll probably never get to Africa to hunt. But I do envision Alaska and out west in the USA. My main reason to join up here is AH seems to be the concentrated brain-trust for actual real information regarding powerful rifles, which I enjoy...
