Curious to see what action people are taking for the Coronavirus

I’ve had the opportunity to spend some extra time in the leather shop. I have been able to finish some projects that have been under my bench for to long.

What guns will you never sell? And what guns do you regret sellling?

It is a .416 Rigby built on an original single square bridge Obendorfs magnum mauser action. Dennis told me he believed the action to have shipped in 1913.

What guns will you never sell? And what guns do you regret sellling?

This is my regret..... I commissioned this rifle from Dennis Erhardt in 2004. It was completed in 2009. I sold it for a down payment on our first house. The photo was one taken when it was consigned.

    454 Casull

My old house was right down the road from Freedom. It seems like almost everyone in Star Valley has a few of them laying around the house, so I managed to end up with several I got in trades. I’ve still never ponied up the money to buy one. I’ve had two in 454, they are built to extremely tight...

When people ask me for things like purses and makeup pouches. I usually cringe a little. It could be because it is usually my wife that asks me for them, but I think this makeup pouch made out of Cape Buffalo turned out kind of nifty.

Good luck if you can find the actual perpetrator. If you do you are lucky, and they are amateurs, but sometimes you will get lucky. A vast majority of times the perpetrators will play victims against each other; sometimes dozens of victims before the money will reach its final destination...

    Rifle spare parts Kit

I have not been to Africa yet, but I usually hunt horseback and in remote areas. I used to carry my kit in an old boot top. I carry small custom turn screws and torque driver to tear down my rifle. I carry enough kit to completely and thoroughly clean my rifle. Last winter I took out all my...

I love things made out of leather, and have made a decent living building things out of leather. One thing to consider, is leather promotes the development of green vertigris on brass cartridges. Canvas and synthetics won’t do that. It’s hard to beat the look and feel of quality leather though.

.22 Hornet double rifle in action

I have been watching Bailey’s work for quite some time. It really is amazing. One of these rifles would be on my short list to own. Unfortunately I have to live on a PBR budget during the good years, and a Natural Ice budget most years.

Skip those two, and just go to the original store at Sydney. It's not too Far East of Cheyenne. It maybe just me, but Cabela's isn't what it used to be. I just as soon go to a Sportsmans Warehouse anymore.

Got to messing around in the leather shop today and whipped up a couple of slides from a Cape buffalo hide one of our members kindly provided me. I haven't got to build to many things out of exotic hide, but I find it fun to work with. There is a lot of this hide left, so I'm going to see what...

    How do you afford Africa?

I'm in a very similar boat as yours. I'm a few years older, but I recently decided it was time to book a trip. I think the biggest thing for me was deciding what was important to me. I had always put it on a back burner as a someday thing. I have a mortgage, vehicle payments, and a young...

Wolves and moose in Jackson Hole Wyoming

I am not a biologist. I'm not pro wolf or anti wolf. I spent 15 years of my life in the Teton Wilderness; the first part was spent working hunting and fishing camps, the second part as a backcountry packer and ranger for the US forest service. The Teton Wilderness holds the highest grizzly...
