impala, gemsbock, and kudu. I reload my own, just finished a nice workup, 155gr Lapua Mega with 45.6g of RL22. Pushes the pills at 2750 FPS, plenty of power for those animals.

    6.5 Creedmoor on Warthog

You must be talking about 6.5x55 factory loads, who load a bit light due to the old mauser worries. I'm shooting a 155 grain Lapua Mega at 2750 FPS out of my 6.5 Swede. Nonetheless, a 6.5CM well placed will take any of those animals listed. Just noticed the date....lol

Cartridges Under .30 for Plains Game

Most of the new off the shelf rifles I see are 1:8 twist for both those calibers. But hey, everyone has their favorite. I own both those calibers and I shoot the same with both, no difference to me.

My hunt is booked with Dinkwe ( http://www.dinkwesafaris.co.za/ ). I'm looking to take an Impala, Gemsbuck, and Kudu. My son (16yr old) is taking a Zebra, Wildebeest, and maybe a warthog. I plan on taking my own rifles, 6.5x55 and 30-06.

Winchester Featherweight SS 6.5 CM For Sale

I have a new in box Winchester Featherweight, stainless version, chambered in 6.5 Creedmoor. I took this rifle as a partial trade for one of my old SxS's. I would keep it but I have 3 other 6.5's already (6.5 CM, 260, 6.5x55), beautiful rifle though and one of the best factory stocks out there...

    Germany Hunting Pictures

I was at Graf and Hoenfels from 1991-1995 and took 6 Roe, 4 pigs and 1 chamois (on German border). I loved hunting and fishing there.

6.5x55 Win M70- Nosler ballistic tip and Hornady Interlok bullets

I'm using the Lapua Mega 155gr bullets in my 6.5x55. Using 45g of RL22 and getting 2700 (2711 avg) FPS out of a 26" bbl.

Cartridges Under .30 for Plains Game

6.5 CM and 260 use the same bullet and are ballistically identical......so why would a 260 be out for you?

Cartridges Under .30 for Plains Game

I'm taking my Savage chambered in 6.5x55 this year. I'm using 155gr Lapua Mega bullets that I chrono'd at 2700fps..... plenty of bullet for plains game. Although it surely could kill an Eland, I might use a bigger caliber on that big boy!

    Lapua Mega Bullet

I just recently loaded up some 155gr Mega's for my 6.5x55 pushing out at 2700 FPS. On paper they are great, they received great reviews, and later this year I will test them out on some plains game in SA! As far as brown bear, is it coastal browns or Grizz? If it's coastal, I'd use something...
