Headlamp and bring a set of spare batteries. I prefer models that allow for a spot beam and wide beam feature. I have Princeton tec, Petzl, black diamond, Pelican, etc. All work well. If you have an REI near you, they have most on display. I do not like the models with a rear battery pack...

This. I travel internationally for work about 70-80 days a year. My carry on always has the bare necessities as I've had my checked bag delayed multiple days multiple times. Sometimes lost all together. Goes so far as wearing my boots (I wear boots almost exclusively in Asia) to the airport...

I agree with Phil as well. I work in the shooting, hunting, fishing, outdoor industry and am in the product development category. We rely heavily on reps for product and brand promotion as a manufacturer. Once a rep loses credibility to a segment of current, let alone perspective, customers...

I think I'm going to dive into this more....but create another thread. I just cannot imagine that a 404J and 416RM shooting the same weight bullet, with the correct charge to shoot at the same muzzle velocities, in the same weight gun, with the same design stock, has any discernible felt...

Too much intimate knowledge of the hunt in question and people involved let alone the Sherlock work by Brick. The haste of it makes it sound more like retribution for an event that was more recent. Possibly losing business to Dave and wanted to supplant false and derogatory reviews.

Think we're splitting hairs when we talk about felt recoil between a 400 gr bullet at 2100 FPS from a 416RM vs 404J....when you're already into the 40#+ range I don't think I could separate out. As for recoil velocity, both shooting a 400 gr cartridge at the required powder charge to send both...

I truly think that is the key, along with stock design. You don't need to shoot hot rodded loads all the time, and if you work up/down your load to what the intended use if for (usually can then be used effectively on any smaller game if the need arises) and something you're comfortable...
