Not sure which areas you hunt . Wxemption can only be given to areas with adequate fencing . You can hunt year round on most open areas too it is just the procedures that differ out of the regular hunting season for open areas. These are most cases from May 1 to either July 31 or Aug 31.
South Africa do not have a hunting season . On all properties with exemption or Certificate of adequate enclosure can hunt year round .
Some outfitters do hunt year round . The bussier hunting season is from beginning of April whichbis oyr fall to mid October when most of summer rainfall areas...
I guess will all depend on if she joins you .... Location , flexability to accommodate you and total cost . Good luck sure you will make the right decision. References in your area might also be a good option !
I got the statistics from our office . From 2008 to 2018 there were 6 complaints filed regarding lions . These were the following 2 permit problems. 1 taxidermy problem . 1 skin were the export dragged out. 1 where wrong tags was put on skins and then 1 donated hunt that did not materialise...
NOWHERE did Phasa condone hunting of lions that spent the night before in a cage .... pls get your detail verified. Min release period 30 days on only 8 accreditted properties.
We are destroying our own right to hunt by constantly attacking each other !!!!
@Rick ...So I guess Lions did not pay ..... thats why they are not staying ..... also NO reply again on my questions about the 40 and 50 k NZ stags on auction .....
If so not too much. I just had a client ship the following. 1 kudu s mount 1Gemsbok s mount 1 impala smount 1 blesbok smount and 1 warthog skull . Shipping was $1230 from Johannesburg to Portland OR
Ok I would post question again . Maybe someone can give me an answer . @ Paul and Rick. One more question . It was stated that the decision was based on public opinion. Where do we draw the line ..... Public opinion is against all hunting and especially Trophy hunting . I would also like to know...
The horns should be fine for mounting . Waterbuck can be pretty light in colour. The one gemsbok looks like a young one ... That is why the horns are flaking .
South Africa and Namibia only ones currently allowed. The do not have a ban on these at the moment. They just not processing applications . This is currently where we are on this.
Guess the PC way to go about it. No direct ban but not processing permits comes down to just that. There are no...
The resulotion said min 30 days or more should it be requested by a member to satisfy requirements of his Org. This was mainly to include the options for SCI members that wanted their trophies enetered. They needed a 6 month min release period.
If I read the press statement correctly this...
I just had 2 Life members at the Phasa booth .... leaving to cancel membership . I am of the opinion that this was not a very well thought through process.
These are membership Org. that are answerablr to members. Decisions of this magnitude should be reverted to membership for a decision. They...
Very sad and unfortunate incident . If we look at the article we realise the loss of life is not even featured in this piece. Simon Bloch again shines with his verbal diarrhea .... He once again makes this a CBL issur instead of focussing on the tragic loss of life ..... just imagine what this...
A BIG tree has been chopped out of the woods today ! Ian's legacy will prevail through the many quality PH's he trained .
We are saddened today .... but maybe should like the African Communities celebrate his life instead of only mourning his passing ......
In all I would say very balanced ! Quite amazed that CNN would even dare to broadcast this. Obviously a few raised eyebrows on some issues. I commend Phillip. Would have liked to see more on what exactly Huntets Dollars bring towards Conservation though.
I hunted a high end Pheasant property in VA ..... late afternoon we were told they all come back to the holding pens at night . There were hundreds of them there. Thats all they know.
If we use this then ALL animals in a fenced area has no chance of eacape.
Again I have to state . 8 out of...
We do not see the big picture . The onslaught is on hunting as a whole. ARA s are quiet the last 2 years .... why ? Because we have some of our own fighting their fight for them . We are pressing the self destruct button daily . We put more effort in fighting each other than we ever put in...
When some of the European Hunting Associations were asked what the difference is between raised Pheasants and Lions they said children take fluffy stuffed lions to bed not pheasants...... this is where our problem lies.
Ok let me explain ..This is not a Governmental Accreditation Process. This Accreditation is for members of SAPA only . This is done by a panel consisting of a SAPA member , Phasa member designated for this purpose.... in the past the President and some others. I think panel is 5 members.
I...
Before 2015 there were no restrictions on where you could hunt . The only requirement was a legal hunt . So 96 hour release period at any of the roughly 200 Lion owners. Most had their own Hunting areas . Others transfered their Lions to Hunting areas. Min area permisable by law was 1000 ha ...
It means no non SAPA member can be accreditted . It makes sense . Any organization can only act against its members . Not against someone that is not a member .
Only 8 facilties have been accreditted by independant Assesors. The Assesors are a panel of people . I can try and get more info about the accreditation process. This should be in the SAPA document .
I just want to re itterate. By Law the release period is 96 hrs. The resolution taken by Phasa members is a min of 30 days on only 8 accreditted properties. We also do not support the min by law or hunting on any of the properties besudes the 8 listed.
Unfortunate event. I am not sure if they realise the impact of their statement. They unfortumately also stepped into the ethical trap.
USFW already indicated that a substantial financial contribution would be seen as an enhancement finding on CBL or Ranch Lions. So if I pay my $5000 or...
Just a quick reminder that myself and also the President of Phasa Dries van Coller will be attending. We will be there if anyone has questions about Phasa . We are located at booth A023 should you not be attendinh the gettogether .
Happy Hunting !
Jaco and myself and Reinhard are sharing a Condo in Dallas. I will show him what he should look like at the Show so he is recogniseable !![emoji23] [emoji23]
Agreed . Those who do think they own clients will find out the hard way they do not ....
There is room for all of us .... Outfitters ... Phs and Clients . a Happy client will always return if it is in his means .....
This is totally up to the Outfitter. He decides how he wants his Business run. In my opinion it should be a compliment to the Outfitter if the client likes his PH . It means he made the right choice !
Outfitters also tend to think a client belongs to him .... they do not ! If I treat him right...
