Speed, I don’t think Brick had any ill will in his response. Just pointing out your numbers match up pretty close to RW.
Welcome and hope you have a wonderful hunt. My first safari was also in Limpopo. It’s truly an unbelievable experience.
Recently read where the owner of Genesis Safaris was leaving South Africa looking to move to Texas ahead of the potential land confiscation.
Obviously don’t know all the circumstances surround the decision but his writing cited the current discussion of confiscation as the primary reason.
Just...
She take that one with her 7mm-08? Saw the thread where they were arguing over if a 7mm-08 was big enough for eland, chuckled inside remembered Kacee taking all those animals with hers.
Another vote for the 7mm-08. I actually shoot the Savage Lady Hunter and love it. It was designed for women with a shorter stock and higher comb, will take any deer species in North America excluding maybe moose and any plains game in Africa. The kudu in my avatar was shot with the 7mm-08, and I...
Dear lord no one knows the gift of a son more than you, guide this surgeons hand and return this young man home to his family. I pray in your sons name, amen.
I agree with Bob. It shouldn't be a problem. The only thing I would disagree with is if you're going for 10 days, take a day off and go visit a park or reserve or some other excursion. It's worth it, enjoy some culture along with the hunting, and the other thing is bring back lots of gifts...
I appreciate your view and reason and ask this question out of respect and interest in your opinion and not out of sarcasm:
What do you feel the difference is in breeding lions or whitetails and releasing them into a 10,000 acre high fence for the purpose of hunting and what makes one ethical...
It really sucks hunting has to be this hard.
We’re attacked from all angles by thousands of agendas to end what we love, and we can’t even stand together.
I don’t believe any of us want to see a lion, captive bred or not shot in a “small” (I know, I know how small is too small) enclosure...
Appears if unsuccessful:
Daily rate 550/day x 14 = $7700
Park scout 70/day x 14 = $980
Pre bait 200/day x 3 = $600
So $9280 plus $150 for each additional bait and $200/day for observers.
If successful:
Daily rate 1200/day x 14 =$16,800
Trophy fee $6000
Park scout 70/day x 14 = $980
Pre bait...
I think the color variants are beautiful. I don’t know that I would ever shoot one but maybe I would. I do support the rights of breeders to selectively breed for this variant. Selective breeding/planting of plants and animals is as old as human beings are. Breeding for a certain color is no...
@Philip Glass,
Watched the movie last night, thank you for doing what you’ve done for the hunting community. It’s a shame in this day and age we are still unable to band together and not criticize and judge each other.
Question: Sorry if this has already been addressed in the thread and I missed it. From what I've read a typical tip for a PH is 6-10% of daily rate plus trophy fees. Does it make any difference if you are hunting 1 x 1 or 2 x 1 with the PH?
