Just returned from 12 days at @TSALA HUNTING SAFARIS, flew Qatar. Covid test was only about 35 minutes from the lodge and cost $64 quick and easy. The test in Idaho falls cost us $110 before we left.

Am I reading it right that 3 hunters and 3 observers are only 3200 plus kids are free or reduced rat depending on age and trophy fees 10 percent reduced? Thats only $533 per person even if they dont bring kids ? Incredible deal!!!

Ive booked 20 hunts in SA and Namibia and only had one PH who was totally inadequate, a couple others who needed some seasoning.

I talked to several Ph's prior to my buffalo hunt and it was obvious that one was terrified of buffalo and two others said they would only shoot if someone was in immediate danger. I went with one of the later and had a great hunt with a PH who respected buffalo but wasn't eager to shoot my buffalo.

Don't tip a set amount, tip according to the effort put out for you. I've had PHs that were incompetent and some who were extraordinary!

I like Swift Dip in Thabazimbi as thats all they do and your d&p is done within 3 months.

Have done eight SA and Namibia hunts by myself and ten with spouse and one with friends. All were good and I would not hesitate to go by myself again.

Have bowhunted SA and Namibia 5 times in Oct. and it was very good, hot in Namibia once, 112 F but hunting was great. Going on a night baited predator hunt in Mid April this year and will see how it is then. I've never been in the green season and wanted to see the difference.

The ft-lbs of energy sure falls off fast. even when the velocity stays high!

Bought a red stag hunt in NZ from DSC at about 60 cents on the dollar.

You have to be very careful as you could put a eye out with those.

I've taken a few night critters with bow, ardwolfe, serval and porcupine and hope to add more this April going to bait for civet, badger, genet and hope to try some calling for jackal. Some might not be of the secret 7 but they are all cool.

As a P&y measurer I have kept track of bear ages and it on average takes a bear a minimum of 8 years to squeeze it to the record book. By the time a bear is 8 he has had a lot of life experience and is hard to fool on a bait to get him to come in daylight hours.

Black beats here in Idaho are not geneticaly large like bears in some states. We have taken two that were 18 years old and both were under 200 lbs. There are always some exceptions. The heaviest bear we killed was only 8
