Yes, it came 7 pigs running. My swing was a little bit slow. I had luck on my side this time.

Last Sunday the 9x57 once again had the chance to shine. Sadly did not the owner his job, and shot the pig in the liver/belly. But the pig only managed to run 100m. My friend tracked it with his Wachtelhund and shot it in the neck.

Bold is a brand of a single stage trigger. Similar as Timney. I have bought and checked it. But it doesn't fit without gunsmithing out of my competence.

The Swedish summer came early this year. To hot for hunting. A nice glass of Pinot Noir and som barbecue fits better.

6.5 x 55 Swede for African plains game

Not suprised. Here in Sweden we have shot hundreds of thousands (may be over a million) of moose with this holy caliber. My uncle used it on almost all the 400-500 moose he shot during his lifetime. What I can remember was the Norma Alaska 156grain his favorite. But I also do know that he used...

    Easter Boar

Nice pig! You don't want them lower tusks up your thigh. ;-)

    Greetings from Sweden

I have now bought a Bold trigger for the rifle. Can't really get along with the original two stage trigger. I also think that I can improve the accuracy, even if it's not bad now as it is. Had a Bold trigger on a M98 rifle that I owned in the past, and I was happy with it's perfomance.

The 6,5x55 is a classic. My uncle shot over 400 moose with his Husqvarna in 6,5.

Thanks! I load the 250 grains Hornady SP to about 650m/s in the 9x57. Worked fine on the boar I shot this evening. Got it just in top of the heart. Went straight down. Follow the below link to read a bit more about the 9x57 Mauser.

First pig down with the 9x57. A small 43kg yearling came together with a big sow. Had to bring a dog to track it in the dark. But the blood trail was easy to follow. It ran 70m with a lung shot.

    Greetings from Sweden

There was a smal crack in the grip behind the tang when i bought the rifle. The mecanism is bedded to the stock, but i thought the tang was a bit in contact with the wood backwards, so I took away a small amount of wood backwards an glued the crack. I will check this crack from time to time.

I bought it with this three position safety, but it’s not original. I got the original flag safety with the gun.

I put a Leupold 2-7x33 with German No. 1 reticle on it. Can't use a modern sight on a classic gun, even if I was tempted. Hope you understand my English even if the grammar and spelling isn' t perfect. :-)

Hi guys! New member from Sweden. Have been hunting since childhood and are now 37 years. I hunt everything Sweden has to offer from moose to pigeons. Both rifle and shotgun hunting. Mostly wild boars these days but I grew up with mostly small game hunting ( hare hunting with dog). The...
