I plan to take it to Matrix. AHR told me he is no longer doing CZ work. If they were able to sort your problem out, that makes me feel better about the Lott and picking up the 416. Appreciate it.

Thank you all. The seller of my .458 Lott has offered me the other 550 he has in .416 Rigby. With the .458 needing gunsmithing to feed properly, would I be an idiot to pick up another CZ big bore?

I’d you have an R8, you have the money and got it for the modularity. Just go ahead spend the money for the extra barrel.

I guessed that was the reason. This is my first big bore. I’ve always slung up tight and thought doing so with a barrel band would cause a POI shift.

Why get rid of the front swivel? I’m hoping to have fun!

I am picking up a CZ 550 in .458 Lott on Tuesday. Guess my 3 guns found me. A deal too good to pass up.

I am waiting for an Alaskan from my dealer. Went with it over the Safari because the sling rings are on the stock, no band on the barrel. No POI shift when slinging up.

I have not shot a double. To be fair, I’ve only seen two at any gun shop or gun show I’ve been to…both were Merkels in .30-06. That was probably part of the allure, but I understand your point. I liked Kevin’s choices too. Sakos are a favorite.

Thank you for the greetings. I don’t necessarily want to go “all out”, but I also don’t want to stand out as the guy with the wrong or sub-par equipment. I’ve been the guy with an inexpensive lever gun when everyone has fancy bolt actions.
