Hi Foxi I use the Trijicon RMR on my .470NE double and really enjoy it. It has been reliable and extended my realistic shooting range by quite a bit. (Bad eyes for open sights) They are also a little less offensive looking than many others! I am a bit of a purist and confess to using a Leupold...

Leupold VX3 1,5-5 with either an illumitaed Red dot reticle or the thin duplex. have then on my 375H&H and (yes I know) sadly on my 9,3x74R double. take the punch and are small/compact on a DG rifle.

the main reason not to scope a double is for quick close quarter target acquisition.......and of course the beautiful lines that get destroyed when you fit any kind of scope! (Even my RMR, but especially then Leupold 1.5-5 scope!)

Poor eyes is most likely the most common reason! My 9.3x74R has a 1.5-5 x Leupold on it and allows me comfortable 100m+shooting, which I could not do without a scope..........so it means I use the rifle so much more! My .470NE on the other hand has a trijicon RMR on it as even at 70m iron...

450NE is the calibre...................I have a 470NE at the moment, but still covet a 450NE. I agree with the Heym recommendation. I currently have a Krieghoff and really enjoy it but concede the cocking mechanism takes some getting used to.

Geupard, I did speak with the PH, who seemed concerned about it. I have emailed the outfitter with the report and some additional comments and await his response. I was actually in contact with a neighboring outfitter this morning and have made the same comments to him. He hasn't replied yet...

Being a Leupold man, 1.5 - 5 x 20 is the way to go. Simple, small and clear. I wouldnt argue against Zeiss, swarozski etc, but value for money my 375H&H BRNO has a Leupold!
