After a year and a half, the magic box finally arrived. Everything turned out to be in great shape, and Tina is overjoyed with her tabletop Steenbok. The big trick now is mounting my Waterbuck above the fireplace while she isn't looking. ;)

My only possible regret is my Warthog. If I had it to do over again, a full body mount might have been a better choice.

BTW, I never knew the skulls were so thick and heavy on these guys! I can see a glancing blow from a rimfire bouncing right off.

It's a pedestal for the Kudu. Here is a picture from the Karoo website of what the pedestal will look like
