What Watch do you wear when you hunt?

I have a Rolex GMT Master 2, 2010 model, black dial.
I really like it, but it is a little bit busy. My current feeling is towards really simple, no frills, but high quality. So I am thinking of trading it in for Rolex Oyster Perpetual 41, like the one below. What do you think?

I think I suggested this one before to you: for the adventurer you are, an explorer is just perfect. But choose the vintage one:

Yes, I think you are right, the explorer is perfect. I see they make a 40mm too, even better. It may be sacreleige, but I like the brown strap.

I love the brown strap, I can totally see your interest! If you don't need the GMT funcion and the date, this one is Bare Metal Perfect.

OP is nice and so is the Explorer 1.

If it's not a Rolex or Bust 'thing' I'd consider a Railmaster, AT or Tudor Pelagos or FXD. Hanhart Precentor HD12 is a nice classic field watch as well.

I can’t stop looking at this watch.
Some watches can be like a tractor beam (Star Wars reference) and pull you in. Be careful or you will end up on the Dark Side...of the Moon.

That has been a dream watch for me for many years. But having seen it in real life, I do not find it as good looking as in the pictures. Unless the lighting is perfect, the white is drowned out by all the black, making it a very bland looking piece. Still very cool, just not as cool as in the pictures.

I like it. Also consider a plain Rolex Explorer?

A very elegant watch, Kevin, It suits you perfectly !

Absolutely BeeMaa, I would for sure buy it with the bracelet.

Kevin I'm not a Rolex man, but that's sexy right there.

This watch has become my new favorite everyday piece. It's a re-creation of the original Seiko "Arnie" as seen in the movie "Commando." Nicknamed after Arnold Schwarzenegger. I spent years looking for an original on ebay only to find beat to hell originals for like $600+. Finally, 2-3 years ago, Seiko gave into the demand and remade them. Wife got it for me as a gift right after they came out. Decent size watch at 44mm. It's every bit as substantial in construction as my Marathon.

IMO you'd be behind on that trade by 2k or more if you shop around. Maybe sell the GMT then buy. This is also just my opinion but ~8k is a lot for what that watch offers. If you're deadset on Rolex I get it, but something like an Omega AT is an objectively better watch for about half the money.

The word “better” can have so many meanings…

If you are talking strictly for the time keeping ability, perhaps the Omega AT would be a better choice.

However, if you are talking about which will hold their value…I’d pick the Rolex every day and twice on Sunday.

Which one looks “better”…well beauty is in the eye of the beholder.

I’d say choose the war that brings you joy. If you buy with your head alone, and not include your heart…you could be looking at your wrist and wishing for something else.

And this is coming from a hardcore Omega fan.

I was meaning technology wise. Co axial escapement and all, and the Rolex having no complications. Yes you are right on resale, still I don't think you'll find the OP as sought after as some other sports models. Both will keep time about the same and are high quality and well constructed although mass produced. I just think Rolex charges a lot for what they offer when under the hood it's not much different than an offering from Tudor for almost 1/3 the price. I say this as someone who owns a Rolex with no complications lol. A 2019 Milgauss with a 3131.

If you look at their new release the Land Dweller it looks like they are trying to move into the space of integrated bracelets and thinner watches (looking at you AP). They also introduced a new escapement that blends a Swiss lever with some of Daniels ideas.

I wasn't trying to offend anyone and apologies if I did. Ultimately everyone should wear what makes them happy no matter the style or cost.

I get it. Respect. ;)

trperk1, I bought the Kimber Caprivi 375 back in an earlier post. You attached a target with an impressive three rounds touching 100 yards. I took the 2x10 VX5 off and put a VX6 HD Gen 2 1x6x24 Duplex Firedot on the rifle. It's definitely a shooter curious what loads you used for the group. Loving this rifle so fun to shoot. Africa 2026 Mozambique. Buff and PG. Any info appreciated.

Hello:
I’ll take the .375 Whitworth for $1,150 if the deal falls through.
Thanks .
