Just finished cleaning & repairing some of the skulls I returned home with from West Africa, most of them turned out quite well ?

What did you use to degrease the hog and dog? I just finished finally cleaning up the mess the African taxidermist made of my last warthog. It's the first time we've tried acetone. Worked out very well. I soaked the jaw in an enameled roasting pan for four days. Masking tape around the seams kept it sealed so gas didn't escape and acetone evaporate. Got rid of the grease stains but still have to peroxide whiten it.

I was surprised how much smaller the Harnessed Bushbuck were compared to my normal Limpopo species but very pretty, this is only 11.5in with 5.25in bases, I did pickup a couple of much bigger heads to 13.5in.

I’m not much on writing stories sorry, it was absolutely amazing but I remembered why I disliked Jungle hunting from my Sumatra hunts, very hard work for not a lot of game seen or shot !!

I just did my normal boil/simmer in cut off 44gal drum with washing powder, then on my return reboiled, peroxide & repaired some shipping damage !

Hope to try again for Forest Buffalo as no quote from government at this time, I was carrying only a 7x64mm but I was going to Brain shoot them if I had opportunity, (depending on permit/permission), as it turned out, only heard them crashing off through jungle !
 
No, I was only in Senegal and Burkina Faso several times. I was interested because you talked about West Africa and forest buffalo, which we did not have in Burkina Faso.

Without being too indiscreet, I must ask again in which Guinea you hunt. I am particularly interested in Guinea/Conakry, especially regarding forest buffalo hunting. I try to book such a hunt for some time, but all the offers in countries like Cameroon or Congo/Brazzaville have been linked to bongo hunts and therefore the corresponding prices. Liberia would also be an option, but in general it remains a hunt that is not easy to organize because the choice of terrain is not so easy and pure rain forest is not where one can have an opportunity to be successful.
 
The warty appearance of the hog's skull is interesting. I see from an internet search that this occurs infrequently. Any explanation why?

Hahaha you should skin one & flesh out the cape, bloody Hell it’s a job !

I think all mature Red River Hog Boars & a bit less Bush Pigs have a “Warty” skull to go with the lumpy face !
