My apologies, feeling a bit nostalgic.
When I was a young boy, my Father didn't hunt. Nor did my two brothers. I was the singular carrier of that hard-wired recessive gene.
I have no idea of the how, or why.
I remember clearly,
as a boy, walking by a garage one afternoon, and hearing 3 guys laughing and joking while picking Ducks.
Everything about it completely captivated me. I asked all the "stupid" questions.
How do you do this?
Where do you go?
How do you know how to get all the feathers off?
What I wanted desperately was mentors, who were willing to teach and share their knowledge.
Today...our spawn has been poisoned by the internet. They thrive on "liking" and living their lives vicariously through reading what others have done.
Breathtakingly sad in my view.

No one in my close nor extended family, up to the 6th degree are hunters. I was the first, together with my brother. In the meantime my father also started hunting.

I’m quite sure my sister’s boys, my brother’s boys and my daughters will all get introduced to hunting in due time.

It might be a recessive gene, but it does come back with a vengeance!

As far as the problems of kids locked onto smartphones and tablets. It is difficult to tell kids to go have adventures, while insisting on always being supervised, and in reach of parents, and not doing anything dangerous or difficult. Too much motherly care, not enough fatherly care in my opinion. But I’m young so what do I know…

I think it has more to do with exposure, my father doesn’t hunt and owns 1 gun and believes whatever the TV tells him about those evil AR-15’s

On the other hand I started loading my own ammo at 14 and had a big learning curve teachings myself to deer hunt.

Let’s face it, getting into hunting can be a challenge but their are still people out there who want to take on the challenge- I know a female surgeon who jumped in recently and I’ve guided many first time hunters both young and old.

It's hard for young people to get into hunting now. Accessible land is disappearing fast. And hunting has become increasingly unaffordable. It's not surprising our youth are turning to Dungeons & Dragons, Facebook, and meth. Reality sucks. Escaping it in the outdoors has become unreachable for all but a wealthy few or those lucky enough to live in the few places in North America that haven't been gobbled up by mini malls or McMansions.

Just wanted to say thanks for the excellent customer service. Ordered some 9.3x62 brass and the delivery was a little short. An email through your website Contact Us link was replied to the next day with the tracking info for the correction. Good pricing coupled with great customer service will see returning customers every time. Thanks again!
