Looks like Bruce was in on those. I’ve never hunted with Bruce but been in camp with him. Seems like a good guy. I’d like to hunt with him someday.

I hunted tuskless and buffalo with Bruce in December in Zim. Fantastic PH and a good man. Had a blast. It was hotter than hell, and he and his team worked their asses off to make a successful hunt come true for me. Can't say enough good things about him and hope to hunt with him in the future.

Hey Wayne, what area do you do the tuskless hunts in?
These will all be in the Gwayi district adjacent to Forestry which in turn is bordering Hwange National Park .

December is a very unusual month to hunt in Zimbabwe. Middle of Summer, rain, heat , bugs...
How did you guys hunt?
Tracking?

Wayne, sent you an email to the above link.
Thanks
Al

Yes. Drove roads until we cut tracks, then tracked. Rain a month before my hunt made the country extremely green and thick. Visibility was next to zero. Had to get in the bush to find animals. We were lucky on rain, as I knew it could be an issue. Rained 2-3 times but always during mid-day when we were resting or overnight. Never hampered us a bit.

Wayne could this be done with a 9.3x74R double shooting a 286gr solid?

My last two elephants were both heart / lung shots. The plan was side brain, but you know what they say about plans. The trouble with elephants is that often on approach there is a point of no return. Can’t go back to the truck for that bigger rifle. Was glad to have the 458 Lott. If I KNEW I could take a brain shot, would be tempted to use the smaller 375.

Nah. Nah I wouldn’t. I want to shoot elephants with an elephant gun.

Right. I am having a 500 Jeffery built. That should do well I would expect.

Probably could be done with perfect bullet placement but I would recommend a heavier bullet personally , so lean towards a .375 or 458 if possible .
