I have seen a lot of threads where people have mentioned two specific people at Coppersmith-Chicago; Laura and Michael.

I was working with Laura at Coppersmith-Chicago on a recent shipment. She was awesome at communicating and very clear and knowledgeable about everything I spoke with her about. However, about 2 weeks ago, right as my shipment was getting to the states, she stopped working at Coppersmith. Since then the communication has not been as good or clear and it felt like things were falling through the cracks a bit. Hopefully it is all sorted now (won't know for sure until I get the bill and delivery), but I am waiting for things to clear fish & wildlife and customs at their warehouse. So we will see when it comes time for pickup/delivery and they send the bill.

Even as recently as earlier this year I have seen people saying to use "Michael at coppersmith" in Chicago. Michael apparently hasn't worked there in about 4 years according to another person at Coppersmith-Chicago.

Just thought it was good info to know since those two people were so highly recommended to work with on this site.

I went through a personnel change at the Atlanta office in 2021. It was seem less with no trouble at all. Good luck!

I’ll ask some questions at their DSC booth. Laura might not be there anymore but I don’t think Michael will have gone far considering his last name is coppersmith. When I first made contact with coppersmith he directed me to the right city then to Laura in Chicago.

I work with Michael Coppersmith out of the Atlanta office on my shipments. He is excellent.

I’ve talked to Michael at our Alabama state SCI banquets several times and he great.

To clarify, I am not saying that Laura, Michael, or Coppersmith are bad. I just think when a highly recommended person works at a place and then leaves, it's worth knowing for people in the future.

For instance, when I called coppersmith-Chicago and got Laura, I recognized her name from this site and was glad to be working with her, and she lived up to the hype while I was able to work with her.

Laura is now at Trophy Shippers. Ldurgin@intlfreight.net

If you come up for the banquet let me know!

It should be a good one with the change to “The Club”

Coppersmith has been in business a long time. Personnel changes will happen. I don’t think it’s anything that anyone should be concerned about.

Morning Rob, Any feeling for how the 300 H&H shoots? How's the barrel condition?

Hello. I see you hunted with Sampie recently. If you don't mind me asking, where did you hunt with him? Zim or SA? And was it with a bow? What did you hunt?

I am possibly going to book with him soon.
