Purdey Motor Case sold pending funds to @bigglesworth
@jimmywallstreet In the realm of cases that can fit largebore rifles, I have two candidates remaining.
A.) A circa 1900 english lightweight leather case with traditional English lock. It needs new handle and new straps. The interior is vacant. A case fitter can do a custom fit interior in that case for about $500 based on tracings of your guns barrel, action, and accessories. That case is $500 plus shipping and is the 2nd one from the top in a photo above, directly below a green canvas case. That particular case would have likely had a hammer gun or early hammerless in it when new and can accommodate virtually any length barrel up to 30" plus a doll's head or third bite.
B.) I have a new-old stock English case made by Brady in the mid-century. It's 100% leather. It has two barrel compartments inside and can handle ample accessories being about 35" long. Again, with a custom fitting, that case will handle rifle, scopes, snap caps, etc. A custom fitting runs about $500 and I have a few credible firms I can give you as references you could use for that customization. That case has its original key, perfect handles, straps, etc. Truly rare to find an unused case of that era. That case is tan or medium brown and is $1000 in the pictures above in the middle of a stack of 5 cases.
Those are the only largebore suitable cases I have left in my collection.

Thanks for the response Rook! Let me consider the options and I will get back with you. I have a 458 hammer gun and a Krieghoff 9.3x74R plus a 16 gauge extra barrel that happen to need cases to live in. I’ll calculate my cash flow as I’m also looking at a 500 nitro or a 600 nitro at the moment
Thanks,
James Simpson

I have a Rigby & WIlson Martini Henry Mk.II trade rifle with a 25.5" barrel. Do you have anything that would potentially fit? Not worried if I have to get it restored or reblocked inside, just a decent foundation to start from.
Rookhawk do you have any type of soft case exotic such as elephant or buff skin that my 24 inch barrel Merkle 470 DR NE would fit. If so what price please? This more of a want than need my friendLeg of mutton cases that need Some repairs start at $50. Hard cases start at $150. New old stock Brady cases are $700. Best oak and leather double rifle cases go up to $1800. There’s a lid for every pot.
