Same here, I have a 300 Weatherby stainless that starts with serial numbers SS. They also have the classic Weatherby style stock. The ones with traditional comb like the above are nickel coated standard steel actions. Not sure about the barrel material.
Agreed, I've never seen Sarco advertise magnum actions. Though it certainly looks to be the same style, just magnum. Perhaps Rookhawk has more details based on his serial number comment?
A good friend who does all of my rifle and gun smithing work came across it at a small gun show this weekend. An old guy was clearing out the last of his table and my friend knew that I had been looking for a magnum action for a long time and snagged it for me. I've never seen one like it before...
Good evening, came into possession of what appears to be a Dumoulin square bridge magnum Mauser action. Does anybody have details on where these were built and when? Were they Chinese made, similar to the standard length Dumoulins that Sarco sold recently?
The magazine box is 3.84 inches...
That's a heck of a good deal. These are similar to the 30-06 imperial grade that was offered through Smith and Wesson back in the day. I've got one and it's an excellent lightweight tack driver. They handle like a wand and are a delight to carry.
What is the barrel length? Guessing 23 5/8"?
