    Lets See Your Upland Shotguns

CORRECTION: In my above photo of 3 hunters, I typed incorrectly the order of each person. Shown L to R, the following is correct: 1. Chuck “Mekaniks”. 2. Myself Paul “Velo Dog”. 3. Don “1dirthawker”

    Opinions please: Pros/Cons of .375 Ruger vs .375 H&H

Hello again Neighbor, Thank you for the clarification. I’m a little slow but now I understand. Perhaps we after all, agree at least as much as we disagree, as is the case with most people who know each other. And thank you for the excellent article reprint. Since I am a shade tree fancier of...

    Lets See Your Upland Shotguns

Fellow Hunters, Although I have formerly owned quite a few shotguns, well suited to hunting upland birds plus rabbit and tree squirrel, none have been very impressive to look at nor very expensive for that matter. But neither am I much to look at. And I’m not worth much money either. So, such...

Good call Jon. You are correct and thanks for reminding me. I simply forgot to mention Harry Selby, another historically quite significant person from that bygone era of Africa hunting when the .416 Rigby rifles and ammunition were available and Selby used one regularly.

Greetings akrifleman, We might be neighbors of a sort, as presuming by your screen name, you live in Alaska. I live in Anchorage (Rabbit Creek drainage). Anyway and be that as it may, my opinion respectfully differs from yours, on some of your comments ….. 1. IE: “Take away Robert Ruark and...

Well said Don, Much like yourself, I favor this forum over all others I have visited, due to the more intellectual and generally polite type discussions. The often pugilistic style sometimes too common within the ranks of those other forums is tedious to read, IMO. And so with that, let us not...

No worries. And, regarding the rifle auction that you narrowly missed, hang in there man. Sooner or later and perhaps when you least expect it, the best deal will materialize right before your eyes.

Want To Buy Stainless, CRF 375 H&H

It is a crying shame that, Winchester has quit making their excellent Model 70, stainless steel / plastic stock rifle in .caliber .375 H&H. For hoofed game—> it is the most useful hunting cartridge of all time.

Well now then, if I’m a “Fudd”, so be it. I’ve been called worse. And, at the end of the day, I still am bored half to death by all these new cartridges which I repeat, do not really do anything that the originals have not been doing for a long, long time. In some cases, for more than 100 years...
