Making a Standard Long Action Model 70 Into a Magnum Action

Alot of skilled metal work if done correctly. Here's a link to Darcy Echols addressing the subject. https://echolsrifles.blogspot.com/2020/08/converting-30-06-to-300-h-part-1.html

    Wanted Sako Rear Ring

I'm looking for an original Sako rear ring to fit dovetail. Actually, I only need the bottom portion of the ring. Condition not important as long as it will fasten to dovetail. Hoping someone has one lying around. Might consider Leupold rear ring for Sako dovetail. Thanks.

Everytime I see a pic of a Chapuis double, I wonder why the mfg. doesn't look at a classic English double or even a Heym 89 to see what a forearm and pistol grip should look like. It wouldn't cost any more to build an English style and I can't imagine how anyone would prefer the current design...

I believe the UPS stores are privately owned and can make their own policies and rules.

Sorry for the hijack. I originally responded to a poster's comment that the rifle in question might be a Western Field by Heym. Search for western field on this site to see a couple for sale. `

They weren't making guns for each other. FN first supplied the FN24 to Yugoslavia. They licensed Kragujevek Arsenal to produce the Yugo 24. I believe they may also have provided tooling. Just a supplier/customer relationship. The 48 was just a modified 24 and the commercial product was...

Just an addendum. The Yugo 24 was an intermediate action provided to Yugoslavia by FN. It was later mfg under license from FN Herstal by Kragujevac Arsenal which became Zastava, who also modified the 24's to 48's. That probably explains the early commercial action utilizing the same tooling.
