I like to buy a copy of the Woodleigh reloading manual. I’ve fallen into some Woodleigh bullets for a number of calibers I shoot and would like to have a physical copy. If anyone has one they’ll part with please comment or PM. I’m located in the USA. Thanks!
W. J. Jeffery responded to my email and sent a picture of the original order ledger. I can make out some of the information but I'm having trouble reading all of it. It appears the rifle was made in 1926!
I can also make out in the description the caliber, rifle make, barrel length, standard...
Thanks for the tip. I’ll pull it apart see what I can find.
Great catch on the bolt release. I didn’t even notice it had serial number stamped on it.
I really appreciate the info on possible manufacture date. If these old rifles could talk...
I’d love to see some pics of your .404 if...
Thanks! You and me both. I’m a history junkie and I can only imagine the lives these rifles have lived.
The .333 Jeffery and 338-06 seem to be ballistically similar. The .333 historically shoots a 250 grain bullet at 2500 FPS and the 338-06 shoots about the same. Of course, modern powders and...
I agree with the .318 WR showing up more often. I don’t see a lot of .350 Rigbys. If you know about a secret stash hiding out please share!
Thanks for the heads up on the numbers. I sent both numbers in the original emails asking for historical info so hopefully something comes through.
The stock could definitely be a replacement, or poorly refinished and the checkering was removed in the process. I may get it checkered if I can find someone within driving distance to do it.
I hate reading about the Cogswell & Harrison. That’s just terrible and shouldn’t have happened. C&H...
I recently purchased a Jeffery rifle chambered in .333 Jeffery. Serial numbers on the receiver, bolt handle, and safety all match. It has a folding leaf rear site and lever release magazine floor plate. The forend tip and grip cap are either horn or ebony. The barrel stamping shows it was...
Gentlemen, thank you for the replies.
@rookhawk thank you for the tips and recommendations. I'll reach out to Lee about those swaging dies.
@Josh P thanks for the heads up on Bertram brass. It's unfortunate they're not importing to the US any longer. Hopefully that'll change in the future...
