I was borne in South Dakota, joined the Army National Guard at 19, then the regular Army, went to Europe and was station in Alaska. Finally I was injured and discharged from service, but stayed in Alaska. Then I was offered a job as a DoD civilian. I have worked for the Army for 32 years now. When I retire it will be 35.5 years. And all of that is much more history than I have shared with anyone.
So when I say I am doing a Safari in three years, I really mean I'm going. I have been given two Safari packages in the past 20 years, but never made time to go.
