I may end up taking it somewhere to have that done. Does anyone know any reputable places in the Austin Tx area , or even going towards South Texas. Im just a little weary of taking it somewhere its one of my favorites in my collection now.
I recently picked up a Comercial Mauser Sporter in 8mm. The gun is in good shooter condition except for a crack in the wood stock near the rear of the receiver. Does anyone have any tips on how to repair or prevent the crack from getting worse. My plan was to hunt with and shoot the rifle often.
I may consider getting another expander since I have another 8mm that is the standard .323. Here are the 2 I picked up
One is a Gewehr 88 by Haenel and Suhl the other I believe to be an original Mauser Sporter.
From what I have seen, Buffalo Arms, Fox, Hammer and Hawk are companies that currently produce .318 diameter bullets. I guess I do need to find dies for the .318 diameter and cant get away with using .323 dies. Ill have to start looking. Do you remember what your barrel cast measurement was??
