    Family Friendly Safaris

G'day from Australia! What I'm about to propose may be a big ask but appreciate any feedback. A few years ago, I did a safari with Somerby safaris accompanied by my wife and 18 month old son. It was an amazing experience! My wife accompanied me hunting and we had a nanny that looked after our...

SOUTH AFRICA: First African Safari Done & Dusted

Unsure to be honest. I had such a good experience this time that it would be a tough call for me to take the gamble on another outfitter/PH. Would certainly consider another country depending on what I think I'd like to target. At this stage, after seeing a very fine specimen last week, Eland...

SOUTH AFRICA: First African Safari Done & Dusted

I think it was a combination of all three to be honest. All animals were in top condition.

This one better sums it up :) There just wasn't any Wildebeest there then ;) \

SOUTH AFRICA: First African Safari Done & Dusted

I've just arrived home from my first Safari with Somerby Safaris in South Africa and all I can say is Wow! What an experience. I was lucky enough to share this Safari with my wife and my 15 month old son. Hats off to Somerby for the way they were able to cater to a 15 month old and I can't...

    Cull Hunt Examples

Hi guys, Another post from a newbie trying to work out what he wants out of his first African hunt! I keep seeing recommendations of people saying to ask about cull animals that may be available. Can people please share some pictures of different cull animals and examples of pricing for cull...

    Best value for different areas

Trying to limit the amount of moving around as we'll be with our toddler. Happy to spend more time hunting less animals looking for quality over quantity. If I have to pass up something that's not readily available in our area, so be it.

    Best value for different areas

This is pretty much my exact thinking. It was more just a thought exercise for future trips to be honest. For example, if I didn't take a Kudu this trip, what part of Africa would present the best value for a trophy Kudu another time. One day I would like to take an Oryx, but when the price...

    Best value for different areas

Thankyou Jaegger. Fantastic response and exactly the conversation I was looking for. Blesbok isn't something I've really considered to be honest although, they are quite cheap where I'm hunting.

Appreciate that advice. All these questions coming from the point of view of a person that hasn't seen a kudu in the flesh. I doubt very much I'll turn down a 54" Kudu if I see one ;) These questions aren't even necessarily about this trip but looking into the future.
