In 2024 my friends and I hunted Zimbabwe and had a truly great time. Due to EU embargo’s we were unable to take our own rifles into Zimbabwe so ended up using the camp .375s which were adequate.

I have an SKB fitted for two long guns that have survived two African trips and a Pelican 1700 for an R8. The SKB is heavier and feels more solid than my spare Peli 1750.
There is a saying in the British military that “no plan survives first contact with the enemy”. I wonder if the same is true with test firing a double rifle?
All my rifle hunting involves my Viper flex quad sticks. So much better than two or three legged supports after a modicum of acclimatisation. I would never go back to a bipod or tripod.

On DG hunts I have 5 in the rifle, 10 on my belt and an extra 5 in a pocket ammo wallet. I should give the tracker an extra box really but I never have so far.
