Shooting vs Hunting / A Growing Ethical Issue

I just don’t see any way to regulate it in a practical way. Equipment restrictions would hurt everyone and set the sport back, rules about shot distance would be nearly impossible to enforce. I don’t think something like irons only would help in the good shot placement category.

    6.5 creedmoor

I have two 6.5 creeds, it’s not the best round and certainly not the worst. I don’t think the advantages to the 25 in most of my use cases are quite enough for me to switch over.

Which gun system to bring back ?

I don’t know if it counts as a comeback or not but I would like to see options for reasonably priced double rifles on the market, no reason they couldn’t be manufactured for under 4k if some of the bigger companies picked them up. I would like to see a resurgence of safari style bolt guns in...

    Red Stag in Argentina

@alexwyo307 one of my buddies gave in to the temptation of the high fence area, that is the biggest stag in the photo with the three of us. The other two are free range as well as the 4th that is in that aerial photo of the stags on the ground. My biggest concern going in was them not providing...

    City Lodge or Africa Sky

I stay at city lodge when I travel for work, great accommodations and very reasonable price and you never have to leave the airport grounds. Great breakfast.

    Virginia members?

Arrowhead Gun Club It’s just outside of Chase City VA. It would be about an hour further east than Lynchburg. I would imagine if you’re near Bristol it you would take 58 to Clarksville (Buggs Island Lake) and then a couple secondary roads to the club.

    Cull hunt questions

Gentleman I certainly appreciate all of the feedback and after what I have received here and via PM I have decided that a better course of action may be to find and outfitter that I can do a couple of plains game trophies with on each trip and maybe a cull or non trophy animal if the opportunity...

    Cull hunt questions

Just looking for some information on cull hunts. Curious how much of a savings there is and if the hides can still be exported?

    No frills double

@Red Leg and @mgstucson I certainly appreciate the input from both of you. You both present valid points, for clarification I will add that my expectation was that the double rifle be a step up in power over the Lott but after looking at some of the options I’m not sure that many offer a notable...

    No frills double

I haven’t really set a budget and I’m not on a time crunch to get the rifle so I don’t have a firm budget as I can be patient and save. I was originally hoping for something at or under 10k but I am seeing the options are going to be limited at that price that being said I can’t see myself...

    No frills double

I don’t know much about double rifles other than I want to own one at some point in my life. I want a no frills, not fancy, working man’s double. I know they are still pricey but I don’t want to pay for anything ornamental. I am unsure on a caliber but it will compliment a 375 ruger and 458...

I have made my mind up to get a 458 Lott when it is available, now I am just debating between the Tsavo or the Brooks. Very excited about these rifles.
