I take my 458 win mag with me weekly into the bush, sometimes I shoot it once, sometimes half a dozen or more. Keeps me on good terms with it.

That’s a 458 win mag with 300gr Raptors. Sounds like a pretty dam good one-two punch you have for Africa.

They worked great on bears. I don’t shoot at game over 150yds and preferably inside 75. The last black bear I killed was around 60yds and it dropped him like a sack of potatoes with the Raptor bullets. Long range hunting is not for me, I like the sneaking up more than anything. Short story…back...

No need for a pistol…I just put one 458 cartridge loaded with a Lehigh under the doormat outside and that has worked perfectly. I’ve never had a intruder problem
