Don't have the experience of many of you, but open top is all I use in Africa. That is with my .375 or .404. When I am deer hunting or the equivalent I will carry 3 or 4 extra in a big jacket pocket.

Welcome to our forum Dave. Spent a day at the London shop a few years back. Many on our forum have spent more than a day there !!! Normally get to meet up with Marc and other employees every year in Dallas. That has temporarily been put on hold since Dallas as moved to Atlanta for the time being.

Steve Barnett Fine Guns in West Point Mississippi used to sell these for around $10,000. He passed away about 1-2 years ago. The business is still in operation but I don't know who runs owns or runs it. The business still has one of the largest fine gun displays at DSC each year though.
