    Clothing? + gaiter recommendations

If you want gaiters, ask your PH if there will a place to pick some up on the way to camp from the airport. I just wear pants, as it's usually cold in the mornings and not too hot during the days where I have been. I take: 2 short sleeved hunting shirts 1 long sleeved hunting shirt 1...

MOZAMBIQUE: 15 Day Hunt Report With Zambeze Delta Safaris In Coutada 11

I try to rid my mind of that type of information quickly, so I am not worrying about it on my hunt! But when one is making a stalk on a warm sunny day in Africa, crawling on hands and knees through waist high grass with the rocky ground dotted with critter holes of all sizes, it becomes...

MOZAMBIQUE: 15 Day Hunt Report With Zambeze Delta Safaris In Coutada 11

Wow what an epic safari! Those warthog are incredible! I sat next to Bredger on the ATL-JNB flight my last trip over. Nice guy and he had some great stories.

    Removing scopes for travel

I picked up a two-rifle case from cabelas that's very similar to the Pelican but much more cost effective. Two heavy duty handles, wheels, four strong latches, two lock points, and foam blank. Fits two scoped rifles no problem with room for a few accessories. It's been on two trips to Africa and...

I may be done with africa, at least for a while

This 100%. I have done it twice and was surprised how easy it was. And I have not had to pay any inspection or storage fees. When I can't import them myself or get them home at a reasonable cost, I will stop going. I can't imaging going halfway around the world on a hunt and bringing nothing back.

    Recent dip and ship cost

I cleared mine last week with no physical inspection needed and no waiting in storage thanks to some quick thinking by my shipper in SA. Seems Atlanta is a mess right now for imports... https://www.africahunting.com/threads/my-shipping-costs.84954/#post-1280906

    My Shipping Costs

BLUF: My total cost for export from SA, air freight, and US import of my 128 x 118 x 98 crate of finished taxidermy was $2248. With shipping being one of the biggest unknown costs of a safari, I think it's important to share current costs to help others plan and budget. There are too many...

HAS ANYONE EVER TAKEN A SHIP

Dream trip for sure! But you will need much more than a 60' or have a capable mothership for support. Check out the Bad Company Fishing world tour, he is doing exactly this, minus the safari. One of the very few billionaires that I feel is livin life right.

Helluva obituary, you should be proud of the life he lived.

    Renewing a US Passport

Same situation for me when getting ready for a Guatemalan fishing trip last year. With 4 months to spare I sent in my renewal thru the standard process and received my new passport about 6 weeks later.

    Shipping - Delta or Turkish?

I have a crate of PG coming into Houston from RSA. No DG, swine, or primates, if that matters. Shipper is asking if I will prefer to use Delta or Turkish airlines. Any pros or cons to either?
