Born in 1964 to a family of generations of non-hunters, I was introduced to hunting in 2000.
The sound you heard when I walked in the woods was the deer laughing.
I would find a rock, prop up my rifle, plop down, and sleep.
I tried turkey hunting but it isn't really my thing.
Divorce began in 2005, the last year I had tags until 2018, and ended in 2007.
Sold off 52 of a 64 long gun collection, some of which I'll never have again.
I started collecting again in 2018 as well.
A friend put me up on a stand and I stayed awake and finally harvested my first deer.
I've been hunting annually since, occasionally ending up with tag soup, and just as occasionally filling my tags.
African hunting, along with elk and moose in the US, have always been a dream of mine, and hopefully, I'll get to each one of them before the Lord calls me home.
