I just love looking at those birds.

    Hunting Safari Preparation Timeline

This is superlative, thank you for the checklist, they make life so much easier. I would imagine a few things have changed in 14 years, specifically the financial information, is there anything that needs to be updated? Thanks again!

The Westley Richards .451 ‘Monkey Tail’

Thank you for sharing this, Fanbosh. Please extend my deep appreciation to your colleague for putting such a well written and presented article together. While I do not believe that everything that looks like a gun should be turned into a museum piece, the world is a better place for him...

And now for something completely different...

Guac and Naan bread; that is something I will have to soon try.

And now for something completely different...

My wife made a 13 bean soup a couple days ago that redefined life s I know it, just a little pork fat. A also love butternut soup, lots of soups. I'm a Southern California product of the Grapes of Wrath, grew up eating all vegetable dinners like stewed cabbage, Swiss chard, fried okra and green...

The .375 Ruger is 13 y/o now. A look back at people's early opinions

I have drawn up that 265 IWB, sort of an almost Ackley Improved 260. It would be great in a 98 Mauser or any other "intermediate" action that can handle the longer COAL.

What To Take In The Field

I'm still researching the In Reach system. It definitely appears that it could be a solution to a real problem. My condolences on you experiencing that and to those who cared for the lost.

Why no love for the .358 Win?

I don't believe anyone has made one, I was just in a conversation with someone who was interested in putting one together for the novelty. I was just saying that a 9.3x57 or 64 isn't comparable to a 358 Win. They don't fit the same guns, for one thing. The bullet availability is (I understand...

SOUTH AFRICA: MOZAMBIQUE: 2 Hunting Trips 1 Year - Africa 2021

Judging by other pictures of Reedbuck, that is one nice animal.

    Best Caliber for Tiny 10?

Again, I'm certain you are correct, it just bothers me to no end. Shooting an 8 pound animal with a 375 H&H just fractures something in my brain. The thread is titled "Best" caliber for Tiny 10, as if you were going to Africa to hunt a portion of the Tiny 10 (I understand doing it all in one...

SOUTH AFRICA: MOZAMBIQUE: 2 Hunting Trips 1 Year - Africa 2021

Sounds like an amazing life. I don't recognize the second animal from the bottom, below the wildebeest?

Why no love for the .358 Win?

That's perfect. I have to keep it going though... I'm just saying, a 358 would shoot flatter and have higher sectional density (couldn't resist :)) than a 9.3x51. I actually have read a post by someone considering creating that wildcat and I can't for the life of me figure out why other than to...

    Best Caliber for Tiny 10?

Clearly, you know what you are talking about, and I appreciate your subject matter expertise; it just seems odd that you all aren't using very fragile varmint bullets like a V-Max, Ballistic Tip, TNT, etc. Literally hundreds of thousands of 8lb, very fragile skinned mammals are killed with them...

    Best Caliber for Tiny 10?

Optics is why I chose the Marlin, much easier than a Winchester to mount a scope. The longer range stuff sounds a lot like our varmint hunting. Something like a Speer TNT maybe? You cn certainly load that bullet into a PG cartridge.

    Best Caliber for Tiny 10?

I apologize for not making myself clear, your point and mine are the same. My position is that the anatomy of African small game and small mammals everywhere else is the same, something very small like a hard cast 44 special would be ideal, assuming you were there to hunt small game exclusively...
