Email them and ask them. Seriously. That's how I got the heads up that mine was going to be available in the next couple of months and to be on the lookout from retailers/distributors.
If it makes you feel better, I mounted the VX-5HD on a 223 Tikka I recently picked up. The scope was fine when I shot a couple of 10rd groups, but when I adjusted the elevation the first round fired thereafter grouped in a different spot then the remaining rounds. If that does not point to a...
Update: Rifle will shoot 1.5 MOA! While this isn't great, it also isn't horrible given the earlier results reported. My results now mirror Winchester/Browning and I'm no longer seeing 5-6 MOA groups.
What changed? I moved away from Leupold scopes. When I first got the rifle back I went and...
Browning customer service got back to tell me that that 0.71" group at 50yds was with 3 shots  I'm disappointed they plan to send the rifle back to me in this condition and told them as such. Caveat emptor.
Quick update. The gun has been with Browning service for some time, they finally got around to it and provided the following update:
In my opinion a 0.710" group (how many shots?) at 50 yards is not a very compelling result. I relayed this, but I don't expect much more from Browning at this...
I know NRL hunter exists, and they have 'power factor' but it'd be cool for a competition like it to have a class that mandated a dangerous game capable cartridge. Yardages might have to be reduced though.
No, it had Winchester's 'factory bedding' on the recoil lug and the rear tang. If the rifle shot well (e.g. <1.5" consistently) my plan was to have my gunsmith cut the barrel down to 21-22", then pillar and glass bed it. However I'm not going to take my chance paying the money for that work on a...
It has cross bolts. Yes after the first few shots they loosened a bit. After retightening both, and lock tite on cross bolts I never had a subsequent issue.
I just sent it back. Did pretty much everything tested above. Shot the following with the rifle:
300 gr PPU factory loads - shot the best maybe 2” or so.
270 Gr Federal RNSP factory loads - shot 2nd best but not great. Maybe 2” at min
300gr Partition load work up with Big Game, H4350. 6” shotgun...
After an unsuccessful ladder with 270gr Speer BTSP, and the 300gr partitions, exhibiting horrendous accuracy, the rifle is going back to Winchester to evaluate if there is anything wrong with it. 6/7 loads shooting horrendously, and 1 shooting marginally is not a good sign.
I'm suspecting the...
Shot the rifle again today. Was going to do some group testing on 300gr partitions with H4350, and also do some initial pressure testing for H4350 and the 260gr Nosler E-tip. Got to the range and realized I forgot the partitions....well shucks. At least I remembered the E-tip loads.
5 fouling...
So I took the rifle out a couple times. First time out shooting Fed 270grain soft points, shot pretty well until the stock bolts loosened up a bit. I tightened them down and shot a good 3 shot group after, but was done after 20rounds from the bench.
Next trip I tried working up some handloads...
I was surprisingly able to source some 300gr partitions for a reasonable price from another forum, so now all I'll have to find is some brass and some magnum primers and I'll be ready to give the reloading a whirl.
It sucks that yours is like that. I haven't gotten a chance to fire mine yet, but it doesn't have any of the bedding problems you reported. Hopefully it functions reliably. Compared to a Howa Super Lite I purchased earlier in the year, this Portugal built rifle is finished way better. On the...
