338 Edge + P, 250 gr TSX and 98.5 gr H1000. Just finished glass bedding it, groups went from2-3 inches to ⅝ to 13/16.. Will be using it on brown bear on the Alaskan penninsula in may.
Yes it slides toward muzzle and I see no evidence of anything gluing it tight. Maybe I will see if Kimber can tell me how they fastened it.

The barrel band on my Kimber Caprivi 416 Rem has come loose. Anyone know the best way to fix this, are they heat shrunk onto the barrel or soldered, I don't see any thing that looks like solder residue or expoxy

Big rifles for big animals, use your 338 win., why not ,you might as well use it on the moose hunt. It is an ideal moose cartridge , there is a reason it is the most common caliber in Alaska.
