COVID vaccination required by Safari Company or not, your suggestion

Not sure why it's an issue since you have to be fully vaccinated to get on a plane to get there.

    Scopes for safari rifles

I like the Z6 1X6 scopes. I have them on both of my go-to rifles, a .416 Rem., chose illuminated reticle, and the identical scope, sans illuminated, on a M70 .30-06. The illuminated has a small circle at the juncture of the crosshairs and just isn't as precise, at least on paper. But I like...

The soul of a poacher. Primarily. Why?

There are really two types of poaching: Commercial and subsistence. Ivory and rhino horn poaching is commercial by definition, but meat poaching has two subsets, commercial and subsistence. It's pretty hard to condemn a man for trying to feed his family, so as long as he's not using an AK-47...

5 Reasons Why You Need Medical Evacuation Coverage

You absolutely need it. If nothing else to give your widow someone local to sue if they screw up. Kinda joking. But I've done insurance coverage and bad faith litigation on the insurer side for around 35 years. If these companies mess up, they are hanging out there big time.

458 Win Mag. Short Barrel Chrono Results...

Never understood why you'd want to chop a barrel that short. Never had a problem with a longer barrel and you'll get more velocity.

Unicorn Bongo in Central African Republic

On a buffalo, I'd take a broken horn in a heartbeat if he was old. Not so on a bongo. Maybe on an antelope I have a lot of.

Most surprising/had to have animal on your first Safari

I agree that hunting eland is as tough as hunting roan and a lot like hunting buffalo if you track them. Frankly, I love hunting eland and they are the best eating antelope in my opinion.

    Half Moon Club Pictures

Been popped a few times, but only was cut once. In 2008 was checking zeros in the Selous. They did it stretched over the hood of the gharri, not great. First riifle, my .416, was spot on. Backup rifle, a .375 that was a bit short for me cut me on the first shot. It was about an inch off, so...

    Model 70 in 375 scope

I'm partial to the Z6 1-6, and I've got a Leupold 1.5-5 all with QD mounts for a backup.

    Hunter mistook for elk killed

For those speculating on the caliber, a .243 is ample to kill a man with one shot, but this was a muzzleloader. It bothered me when I hunted there that while muzzleloader hunters were required to wear orange, bow hunters were not. Makes sense because bowhunters need to get closer, but what...

    Murder

I guess you could carry a roll of quarters in your pocket, but that's hard on the knuckles, unless they'd let you put it in a sock.
