    New Lipseys M77 .35 Whelen

I was checking Ruger's website today and saw they added a 257 Roberts as a sports south exclusive in the standard model (blued with walnut no sights) that should be a pretty popular model as well! I think next year will be the year of the .25 calibers.

    New Lipseys M77 .35 Whelen

They did the 300 and 338 last year starting in august. I was able to pick up one of the 300s their first week out. Fantastic guns but only exclusive thing was the chambering. Regular bolt, factory muzzle break, and express sights (which i prefer). Glad to hear they aren't changing it up yet...

New Ruger Hawkeye African 300 Win Mag

That's some great looking wood grain there! Mine ended up being pretty plain but I'd still rather have that than a plastic stock.

New Ruger Hawkeye African 300 Win Mag

Sorry I totally forgot to get back and do an update. The rifle ended up shooting very well. Used the iron sights and the Hornady outfitter ammo to harvest to whitetails does this past fall for freezer filler. I'm hoping to pick up a scope this year and try out some more ammo at longer ranges for...

New Ruger Hawkeye African 300 Win Mag

I can confirm that they are a fresh run and so far appear to be great quality to me! You are right though about it feeling like an ideal plains game gun.

New Ruger Hawkeye African 300 Win Mag

It is being produced currently as an exclusive run for the Shoot South distributor. It's available at buds gun shop as well as KY gun Co currently. It isn't listed on Ruger's website but is on the distributors and different dealers.

New Ruger Hawkeye African 300 Win Mag

I'm going to be using factory ammo for this season but would like to start reloading for it after that.

New Ruger Hawkeye African 300 Win Mag

It holds three and one in the chamber. And i could easily see that. Compared to the rem 700 I used to shoot in 30-06 this rifle is a lot lighter. Really fast feeling in the hand too.

New Ruger Hawkeye African 300 Win Mag

Just wanted to share with everyone that I was able to pick up a new Hawkeye African chambered in 300 win mag. I haven't even shot it yet but I'm over the moon with this gun! I have to say I'm sold on express sights now. I can't wait to start hunting with it this fall. I'll break it in on...

    Greetings from Kentucky

I gotcha! I grew up close to Boone and pass through Gallatin when I go to visit my family. That's some good hunting ground out there!

    Greetings from Kentucky

Hello my name is Ken and I've been watching here for a while and decided it's time to join. I haven't had the chance to hunt in Africa but it is a dream of mine to go someday. I need to go to Alaska before I leave the states though. I look forward to joining in all the conversations though!
