Meat Eater - Steve Rinella in Africa

Don't forget that not every international/safari hunter is American. Up until now, most of Meateater's content has been focused on North America. This move will help to broaden the appeal of the Meateater brand internationally.

    Malaria Prophylaxis

Is there a particular probiotic you would recommend for travel? Most of the good ones that I know about have to be refrigerated.

    Malaria Prophylaxis

Hello AH, Me and my younger brother are going to Namibia next year on our first safari. After hunting for plains game, we are spending a few days on the Okavango River fishing. As it's a malaria risk area, we will both be taking Malarone. I have read that some people don't take malaria...

    DSC The Latest

I was at SCI earlier this year. Every exhibitor I talked to that went to DSC in Atlanta was livid. 2026 needs to knock everyone's socks off. If the next convention doesn't work out, that could be the kiss of death.

    DSC The Latest

Having the CEO leave after such a short tenure (not even 12 months) doesn't inspire a lot of confidence. I truly hope that they are able to turn things around. It's important that the organisations representing hunters are stronger than ever.

Here is the next episode of his Tanzania hunt

Meat Eater - Steve Rinella in Africa

A lot of it really is just misconceptions caused by the popular press (e.g. the meat is wasted, the animals are kept in tiny enclosures, it's easy, etc.) The best way to fix this is first-hand experience. "Travel is fatal to prejudice, bigotry, and narrow-mindedness." -Mark Twain

Cameras bring them or stick with phone

I know that this is an old post, but I want to throw in my two cents as someone with a formal education in film/photography. Please, please, please bring a camera! Smartphone cameras have come a long way, but there are things that they just can't do because of technological limitations. A...

A Tribute To One Of Our Own, Golam Habib Dulal

Ah, my apologies. Still, your stories (particularly tiger hunts) are captivating.

A Tribute To One Of Our Own, Golam Habib Dulal

With all due respect, I disagree. There aren't a lot of people still around who can say that they (legally) hunted in India before it was banned in 1972, and there are only a handful of those people who have a presence online. People like you are a treasure-trove of knowledge, and it's extremely...

A Death Of Ethics: Is “Hunting” Destroying Itself?

Thanks for this fascinating insight into the hunting culture in Bangladesh. What is the name of your book and where can it be bought?

A Death Of Ethics: Is “Hunting” Destroying Itself?

This is exactly right. It's one of the reasons why I think Meateater/Steven Rinella has been so successful as a representative for hunters.

    I'm looking for Bongo

I think there's a pretty big difference between big American cities with some bad neighborhoods, and a country where a civil war is taking place and the government has very limited (if any) control outside of the capital. I'm not saying that people should live in fear, and it certainly doesn't...

    I'm looking for Bongo

Not to mention that there is an active civil war in the Central African Republic, and every Five Eyes country has issued a "Do Not Travel" warning. I know that some members on here have been on hunts there with success, and I understand that the hunting takes place in a part of the country that...

Maneaters of Tsavo: Follow Up and Questions

The issue of man-eating animals is a lot more common that most people in the Western World realize. During the whole Cecil fiasco, a Zimbabwean man wrote a piece in the New York Times and he mentions that one of the reasons why people don't like lions in rural Africa is because of how often...
