A First Timers Guide to Buffalo

Yes, an improperly set up or worn claw extractor can leave a round in the chamber. One made from inferior materials can break. These same issues--poor set up, worn out parts, inferior materials, happen even worse with push feeds. I have seen push feeds have a similar issue you described...

A First Timers Guide to Buffalo

The main reason a CRF is a little more reliable is because of the PF double feed issue. That has been a known problem with push feeds for what, 100+ years? What I illustrated in the video has indeed happened. When a round is jammed into the chamber via the double stroke, the rifle is...

A First Timers Guide to Buffalo

I have a lot of rounds through rifles with 70+ ft lbs so I am well aware.....and at 5'10 and 162 I easily move with the rifle. I have found that generally, the bigger the guy the more the recoil hurts them.

A First Timers Guide to Buffalo

I forgot to mention, I was in South Africa, Limpopo. My bull definitely had hard bosses and the tips were starting to broom according to the PH. Like I said in the video, I am not remotely an expert so I just shot the bull he told me to shoot. My biggest error was I could have followed up...

A First Timers Guide to Buffalo

The CRF comment was based on what Kevin Robertson has said/wrote. A push feed that is well sorted out would be fine--especially with a center feed magazine-- and I think the Blaser takes the push feed up both from that. Still, I think the CRF wins the reliability game, maybe even over a...

A First Timers Guide to Buffalo

This Because we were doing some marketing work for the PH and there weee several of us on the trip, we really needed to get the buffalo early. In the video you can see what I think is the herd bull who was deeper and wider than mine. This bull was a hard bossed bull who stayed behind as the...
