    Sleep Schedule

I never got on schedule in RSA. I was too excited on the flight and we kept taking little cat naps at lunch once we arrived and started hunting...and then I was too excited with the hunting. I was on the ATL to JNB flight and it takes off at 9pm or so and landed at 7pm or so. So I didn't...

    Used Beretta Dt11 Sporting 12Ga 32"

    Post it on here, please.

    But how does it taste?

Great question. Our PH on my one and only excursion was a wizard on the braai. Everything he cooked was varying shades of spectacular. You mentioned buffalo. I loved the buffalo we had. Like a great filet but...more. Zebra was everyone's favorite. Bushpig, kudu, gemsbuck, everything was...

Hornady Superformance SST Ammo - for Big Game?

I've used the SST in a .308 on antelope. It worked phenomenally well but that thing does expand in a hurry. I opened one up and it looked like a tiny grenade went off in the heart. Nothing left in there. Others who have hunted more might be able to tell you what it does on larger game, but...

    DSM-5 - African Hunting Disorder

Read this to my wife just now and she was, I think possibly, rolling her eyes at me over her cup of coffee. Her comment was "At least I'm not alone". Maybe we should form a support group for our suffering spouses. We coukd help them through this and get them to understand our malady and...

Pulled the trigger- Heading to Tally-Ho in 2026

You won't regret it. I understand having the bug bite you a little later in life. Enjoy this trip to the utmost. Parts of it will go fast. Take your time and find a moment now and again to catch a deep breath and soak it in. I only had a couple of regrets from my only trip so far and one...

BRNO 602 Synthetic Stock - What options do I have?

Bell and Carlson has an option that dropped right in for the 550. Shoots nice. It's not a McMillan, but it works well. I'm assuming what works for the CZ 550 would also work on your 602 but a quick call to B&C would confirm.

NAMIBIA: Plan For Namibian PG Hunt Turned On Its Head With A Great Outcome

Great read! I can't imagine that last several minutes setting up and moving...setting up and moving. All on an ele that had flipped a truck. Thank you for sharing all of that.

    $1k budget for Scope

+1 on Leupold and +1 on Trijicon. I have a couple of VX5s for the Leupold. None hunted hard so no comments on their ability to take a beating. The Trij is new and on a .375, but it is a 1-6 so probably less than what you'd want for your range. There seem to be some great prices on Leupolds...

    A vote for Timney...good experience.

    Yep, correct. Good eye!

    A vote for Timney...good experience.

Yeah, I know. I thought about that after I posted, but didn't follow up. I forgot that the CZ even had a set trigger until I was reading up on something else. Not thinking I would want an ultra light trigger on a .375 anyway, right?

New Winchester Super Grade Barrel Problems

Charles Barkley would say that looks turrible.

Stock CZ is on the left and Timney on the right. A remarkably simple design in comparison.

    A vote for Timney...good experience.

I know we have some very experienced gunsmiths and afficionados around here, but for those of us whose skills are at a someone more beginner level here's a big vote for Timney. I placed an order for a new trigger for my CZ 550. The factory trigger was okay, but I thought a drop in Timney would...
